The Dragonflies' Lair 2
Poets, Friends, | November 16, 2014 | Soaring Feather

My Dragonfly And Me

If I could be a Dragon Fly
and wing my way through the sky
I would never be shy
just me and my Dragon Fly!

By moonlight we ride the wind
chase the comets tail for fun
by day we would hide from the sun
our fragile wings would come undone

On darkest nights we would use
fireflies as our guide
we would dip and we would glide
through the heavens open wide
and scatter diamonds in the night sky
my Dragon Fly and me...

And we would wing past our lovers
silent in the night...
to kiss their face in our flight
much to their surprise and delight
my Dragon Fly and me in sight...

Such a view do we share
away up here in the air
of breezes soft through our hair
my Dragon Fly and me a pair...

Hi Soaring Feather, Thanks for posting Flying Carpets. I am sorry that I have not been more attentive to the site but things are a little hectic at this time. Hope that all is well with you.

Hi NY Attitude, glad you thought to stop around The Lair.

We understand work keeps your time filled. Pop around when you can.

The Flying Carpet poem — good work. :-)

Love it!
That is me without any hair, but for information regarding scales, I prefer not to share.
I hate itches in my underwear, it is this that turns me red as I lie tossing and turning in my bed.

LOL

Itches in the britches
uncomfortable by all means
must make sure the seams
would with hold many beams.

Itches in the britches
Brought on by stitches in my undies
that only occurs on Sundays
as from taking a bath I refrain
until I hear my wife complain

NO, tell me it isn’t so!

Wives are known to complain about one thing or another,
sometimes it is best to walk out the door and
take your chances with the weather.

When I hear my wife yell and scream
I pray that it is only a dream
and hope that she will be appeased by a scoop of ice cream
but as I sense the throes of reality
I conjour up pleasant thoughts to maintain my sanity
and with those thoughts racing in my head
I quietly lay down in my bed
and hope that the journey is deep
as I finally drift off to sleep.

I hear, women who yell and scream- are called Harpies
not most serene and a scoop of ice cream will not sooth
their feathers.
Neither a new Mink coat, or French Perfume
will calm this old screech-er down
maybe a Gargoyle would make her sing
the thing is concrete and totally deaf
so he ain’t going to hear a thing she utters.

As the 3 Sirens sing with one beautiful voice
The poor sailor that hears it has hears it has to make a choice
The melodious sounds are sounds seemingly from Heaven
As opposed to the voice he hears of the Boatswain
Fearing the crack and taste of the Boatswain whip
The sailor hastily abandons ship
And swims toward the melody he does crave
Only to be immersed in a watery grave.
