In order that we might all raise the level of discourse and expand our language abilities, here is the daily post of "Word for the Day".

Etymology:
Chiaroscuro comes from the Italian words for "bright," chiaro, and "dark," oscuro. It entered English in the late 1600s.
The sentence must, in some way, relate to the news of the day. The Review threads are linked for your edification. ;-)

WFB's attempt to emulate us ; ) No pushing at the door please!
that is UNBELIEVABLE, how could parents do that to their kid? I cannot fathom it!
I am cracking up at Twitter today. Podhertz said the 2016 dem roll out looks like a casting call for a remake of Cocoon.
can jerry brown be SERIOUS about running?
He’s been seriously crazy for years.
Another crazy guy, but crazy talented too.
White and black paint a picture chiaroscuro
Of a president who is truly mulatto
Don’t care about the color of his skin
Only the state that our country is in
Cries of racism become his chronic scenario.
It'll be interesting to see if that one guy is driving around the streets here again during a travel ban pimping his kids out to shovel... Last night, he stopped to talk to my wife (who was ¾ done with the driveway) to try to dicker his price down; I guess he couldn't get enough takers at the $50 price. :-\
The chiaroscuro between
Obama worshippers and us
Only makes us wonder who
Will go next under the bus
Obama’s minions likely want
Gruber to be the one tossed
But he’s already done damage-
So the advantage may be lost
But with the amnesty debacle
There may not be enough room
For all who will be blamed
When all of this goes boom...
I’ve printed the memos my compadre asked for, reminding subs about no illegals on job sites-I’m going to pass them out tomorrow morning...
A+ for you and your racist poem. ;)
Omigosh. A+ for you and my pity for people who have to put up with that horrible global warming.
A+ for you. Well done, as usual. It finally broke freezing here so I’ve been able to jog the park the past 2 days. So much better than being cooped up inside, on a treadmill, feeling like a hamster on a wheel.

Thanks, for the grade and your kind thoughts
I trust these reports don’t come across as a pity party mostly FYI, no P&M going on here. I have to smirk at some of the related threads where people are using this occasion as a d*ck-measuring contest vs. the bad weather in THEIR areas.
Winters up north must be like childbirth, in the sense that they can be painful and horrific experiences, but our memories seem to forget them completely or blur out any unpleasantness until it happens again.
Thank you! I went hiking in the woods yesterday and today, too-lots of squirrels and deer out-the rut will begin soon, and the bucks are sizing up the group of does they want-and their competition.
It stayed above freezing last night for the first time in nearly a week, and is 60 with misting rain now-like normal at this time of the year-I hate being stuck indoors...
