I haven't been one of JT's biggest fans either but then, I like music that's good, no matter how you categorize it.
Four or five years ago, JT and Carole King did a reunion concert at The Troubadour in W. Hollywood that is available on DVD. Although JT is six years younger that CK, their voices both sounded almost identical to how they sounded 40 years earlier, and their stage presence was keener, IMO.
And that was the point of my initial post regarding aging performers embarrassing themselves to make a little more money. These two did not need the dough. Although you didn't buy his albums apparently (don't know how you feel about CK's Writer and Tapestry), many people did at the time.
