They should spin off Craftsman
Sinking deeper and deeper into recovery.
Stepping into one of their stores was like a time warp back to 1982.
I haven’t shopped there in years.
“K-Mart sucks”.
The only thing you can get at Sears is your credit card hacked!
I still support them and love their stores. Not good news.
Even their tools suck now. They are seldom any better than Harbor Freight but cost a lot more.
They just built a new store in my town.
When Sears ended their catalog business, I wrote them a letter of complaint. For those who remember the Sears catalog, just think what sort of postion they would have been in if they’d continued it up until the arrival of the internet and online ordering.
But they decided to emphasize their brick and mortar retail stores and ended their catalog sales. Would have been an easy transition from catalog to online business, and a catalog could have been continued for those who wanted it.
Same was twice said of Apple.
The reason why I stopped shopping at Sears was because all of the salespeople made me feel like I was standing in line at the Social Security office or the Post Office.
Are they following the Roebuck part of that Company?
I work at a factory that supplies product sold under the Diehard label and just yesterday I overheard sales guys fretting that not only might we not get paid outstanding debt, but that going in to bankruptcy they can bill us for whatever they paid in the previous 90 days. I don’t understand how that works, but they were having a serious discussion of the financial liabilities of continuing to supply Sears with product.
I’m surprised it lasted this long.
Once great stores. I remember as a kid our parents took us with them through the Sears&Roebuck shopping experience. I can smell the popcorn now at the concession stand. A box of popcorn and a bag of chocolate malted milk balls to share with the sibs.! Heaven on earth to this kid. Leaving with a new pair of shoes, or a jacket...it was all good.
All of us marked the items we wanted for Christmas in the Wish Book.
A piece of Americana gone or going...
I’ll never forget page 602. 1975 I think..
I have to walk through a Sears store now and then. Really depressing. Empty with cranky employees standing around complaining.
