He doesn’t need the low IQ, just high mgs of pain medication. You can believe these guys are full of Vicodin or similar meds every Sunday. I’ve had bone fractures, ankle sprains, and second degree separations. Tough enough to shower, dress yourself, take the stairs, or get a good night’s sleep.
“All this for a f&@*# game.”
No............
If true, Cowboys and Romo should be institutionalized.
Umm.. its a TEAM sport as I recall.
Do not make him out to be some kind of hero nor exaggerate a broken rib! I can assure you that the pain is inconvenient but not debilitating nor excruciating. ;-)
And you know absolutely squat about the game of football. Weeden is craptastic at best. Romo is a very good QB. This season he has three things he hasn’t had previously. He has his coaches commitment to the running game, a damn good O-line, and a defense that can actually play. This is the 1st time in his career that he hasn’t had to be the only one making plays. Last season he had to bail out the league’s worst defense. The running game was non-existant.
Look at the stats, Romo is a Top 5 QB. There isn’t a team in the NFL that wouldn’t snatch him up in a hearbeat if he was available. It’s fashionable for those who have no football IQ to bash Romo.
Isn’t that information supposed to be released by the team when it occurs?
It was. Romo has been listed as Probable or Questionable for much of the season. The team must report injuries to the NFL. The NFL usually only lists the most serious injury.
Indeed! I was so happy when the Browns got rid of him.
Jesus Christ: You cant impeach Him and He aint gonna resign.
How was Romo’s first start? I know, Weeden started a lot if games...for a completely worthless team.
As a Browns fan, you should know that your team has a long history of making good qb’s look like sucky qb’s
I won't deny the Browns mostly suck, but who are you referring to specifically? Brady Quinn? Tim Couch? Spurgeon Wynn? Charlie Frye? Ken Dorsey? Heck, just give me one name.
As Weeden's #1 fan, you probably think Tebow was a good QB, too.
This is why I absolutely hate the NFL. Because people think Tony Romo is a great qb because he throws for 300 yards every once and while, that only pocket qb’s can be good, and “you have to control the line of scrimmage and play field position because the defenses are so fast.” It’s a paradigm that never gets challenged because job security is so shaky: coaches do what’s expected, lose, get fired, and wait for the next gig.
I can’t make it through one commercial break in an NFL game.
Good one...thanks for the Friday humor.
Colt McCoy, Brandon Weeden, Johnny Manziel (you know it’ll happen).
Of course I think Tim Tebow was a good qb. You don’t? That’s crazy. Won the Heisman and could have won 3 Heismans at least. Won the national championship twice and close to winning more. The reason Tebow is not winning super bowls in the NFL is because the NFL sucks.
Weeden is hardly better than Romo. Maybe after some time on the field but not even near the same level yet. Stats prove it.
Look who’s at #3 http://www.pro-football-reference.com/leaders/pass_rating_active.htm
Colt McCoy? He's on his 3rd team in 5 seasons & has done nothing with or without the Browns. He seems like a good kid, though. I hope he eventually becomes a credible backup QB, if he's not that already.
Weeden is awful. I've watched very one of his NFL games. He sucks at reading defenses, his aim is horribly inaccurate, he zeroes in on one receiver and panics with the slightest amount of pressure. Nothing has changed since he went to Dallas.
Of course I think Tim Tebow was a good qb. You dont? Thats crazy. Won the Heisman and could have won 3 Heismans at least.
Tebow was awesome in college. But, like so many more before him, he couldn't make it in the NFL. Get back to me when he has a lifetime completion percentage above 50% in the NFL.
So you say Romo is better than Steve Young? I see a lot of losing and 500 seasons in there. Dan Marino had no team behind him. Dallas is 49% in games that Romo played in. Dolphins were 61% in games that Marino played in.
