All three NYC airports are always the winners of these lists of worst airports in North America. All of them are dumps.

Agreed. But I can't see rating only 36 airports in the United States and Canada. Some of the best run major airports are not even on the list including Pittsburgh, Cincinnati and Salt Lake City.

The other interesting thing is that three of the top ten are Canadian and I'll guess the number one reason: no TSA.

I’ve had visitors fly in to Detroit and every one of them says its one of the easiest airports they’ve dealt with.

Worst airport I was ever in was Detroit. This was maybe 15 years ago. Poor signage. I couldn't find baggage claim. Tried to ask employees. The first two couldn't speak English. Finally found one who was able to direct me.

My favorite airport is McCarran in Las Vegas. Very efficient.

Laguardia should be closed. LGA actually interferes with traffic from other area airports like Newark (EWR) and JFK. First, build express rail connections between JFK and Grand Central Station for fast transportation to and from Manhattan; build an additional runway at JFK to handle additional domestic airline traffic; then close LGA and sell off the real estate.

I connected to Paris through LaGuardia last Spring. Being married to a pilot, the only worse airport I’ve been to has been in the Philippines.

I’m surprised Mccarran (Las Vegas) didn’t do better. I’ve always thought it was about the best- ease of parking, gate access, shopping, entertainment, bars.... It’s major downside now has been after it’s expansion because it’s become so large which means long walking distances. Otherwise, it’s still pretty pleasant and even has valet parking for short term. I love that.

Yup. I had to drive around LaGuardia 3 times just to figure out how to get away from it.

I would readily put JFK on the bad list. I had the experience at 2PM one day to be there.....in the midst of summer...and they cancelled the remaining flights for the day because of approaching thunderstorms. Airline did nothing on hotels. Discovered that it’s the worst place to do any plan B situation.

I’d put Boston and Philly close behind JFK. The worst airport for distance between terminals is Charlotte, NC.

On the better airports...I’d put Dulles on the list, along with Reagan International, and Atlanta.

As for small international airports....Reykjavik, Iceland is a great small airport....although there’s just no hotels around the airport, and you’d have to take the shuttle bus into town if you get stuck there.

Out if the top 50 in terms of air traffic, St. Louis is the worst. Decrepit, decaying and eerily quiet at night.

Atlanta Hartsfield-Jackson

The only way that makes sense is if you're with Delta. Otherwise you get a nice and long trip across one concourse, a trip across their people-mover, and a long trip across another to your intended gate.

Dallas-Ft. Worth International

Not sure how DFW got that low, since they don't have Atlanta's mistake (see above). That, and they manage to somehow make long layovers a good thing.
