Students of today; pay attention, and never forget your first lesson of “How Socialism/ Totalitarianism Effects My Everyday Life” Stay tuned, there will be many other lessons of Government Overreach to learn when you begin dating each other, or trying to.

Jake: “Oh it was bad. Thursday night they’d serve a wicked pepper steak.” Matt: “Can’t be as bad as the cabbage role at the Terra-Phelevo Penn.” Elwood: “Or that oatmeal at the Cook County slammer.”

“”White House nutrition policy adviser Sam Kass said the White House is ‘deeply engaged’ on the school meals policy, which has become one of the first lady’s signature issues. He said the policy is a top priority for the administration.

‘We’ll always look to be flexible where appropriate, but what we’re not going to do is undermine science and the health of kids in any way,’ Kass said.””

Sam Kass, the WH chef - does he recommend and fix this crap for the first family? Didn’t think so! Another Chicago loser that the obozo’s had to find a home for.

Boy! I never knew any black slave holders but I sure resent their treatment of the blacks that we are now being made to pay for their sins! I wouldn’t believe there were that many chips to go around in this world for every one of them to have one on his shoulder!!!

OK - I thought there must be a “free” aspect to it. The government has to take on the role of the missing or overworked parent to feed the kids. I don’t know if there was ever a time in our history where we did this. The only thing I remember was a school milk program which I believe was the continuance of a program started after WW11.

My mother was a teacher. I know if kids turned up to school without food at school the nuns would be around to the parents’ house to see what the heck was going on. I am sure they may have taken the opportunity to get needy parents some assistance but sending kids to school without lunch or money for lunch was not acceptable.

Thanks for enlightening me. I find it fascinating.

I would make “Moo meals” mandatory at the White House and State Department, including when entertaining the fat cat donors, politicians and all foreign dignitaries.

Kids have had a taste of control. Are they smart enough to vote against it?

ANOTHER REASON TO HOMESCHOOL

This ping list is for the “other” articles of interest to homeschoolers about education and public school. This can occasionally be a fairly high volume list. Articles pinged to the Another Reason to Homeschool List will be given the keyword of ARTH. (If I remember. If I forget, please feel free to add it yourself)

The main Homeschool Ping List handles the homeschool-specific articles. I hold both the Homeschool Ping List and the Another Reason to Homeschool Ping list. Please freepmail me to let me know if you would like to be added to or removed from either list, or both.

I suspect that the reason the food quality is similar to prison food is that they have the same primary concerns. Cost (time) of onsite prep, and cost of the food itself.

Then there is the issue of offering foods to the kids that they recognize and are willing to eat. Sushi might be acceptable at some schools in CA of HI, but would likely go untouched in upstate NY. I also think many students today would not touch staples of 40 years ago like salisbury steak and meatloaf.

Then there is the issue of portion size where most of the images I see are in my opinion half to two-thirds what they should be.

I think they better start feeding Michelle's menu to WH chef Sam Kass until he truly appreciates FLOTUS’ meals. Or, better, feed him nothing but MRE’s until he appreciates real food. What a pompous ass.

I’m here to tell you, no they don’t. But it’s neck and neck. CC

Yeah? How do prisoners bulk up in the weight room without lots of protein and other food?

They were able to buy protein supplements like whey powder, etc. until recently. Somebody finally decided that wasn’t a good idea.
