As much as we enjoy hearing news like this, don’t forget they make up losses by foreign markets.

Interstellar was awful. Simply awful.

Well deserved. Conservatives make the crappiest movies. It pisses me off to because I wouldn’t mind seeing some good ones. But conservatives only put out extremely lame movies.

My wife wanted to go see “Foxcatcher” the film about John Dupont’s wrestling fixation this weekend. It was one of the worst movies I’ve ever seen. Slow and inert, it was like having someone wave garbage under your nose for 2 1/2 hours.

Maybe I’ll go back to the theaters when the 3D Terminator movie comes out.

That wasn’t the case before the ‘New Hollywood’ era of the late 1960s. Since then most conservatives have either left the film industry or make total schlock (Death Wish, Red Dawn).

Turned on the TV for a bit last night and found a re-run of the I Love Lucy Christmas show. Saw it when it originally played and then again when my kids were growing up as well as with grandsons but haven’t seen it in about ten years. What a jolt to be reminded about how different times were then.

The Alamo Draft house in Austin (and elsewhere) changed moviegoing for me.

They're strict about cell phones, have full bar and restaurant menu, fun previews, large comfortable chairs, and some of the newer locations are extremely nice.

I keep hearing great things about Interstellar, but when I look at the plot summaries, I can’t help but think it isn’t a bit over complicated.

Loved Guardians. Just a fun movie. Other than that I haven’t seen a good movie in a while.

Our local 8 plex runs a half hour of advertising and VERY LOUD promos of coming attractions before the main event. And, they've moved to what seems to be microwave popcorn. Yuk !

now that is an FU Kurt Cameron on the dumbest movie ever.....

Not a Kirk Cameron fan, are we?

BTW, didn't you correct someone for getting Carey's name wrong? Interesting. Kirk, Curt, Kurt. Something like that. Maybe Mariah Carey. Or Mariah Kerry. How about John Kerry? What's in a name?

Well to be honest, America itself was much more conservative in those days. They didn’t have abortion or gays at that time at all (country as a whole). Now it is a total cesspool (America itself). I can’t even imagine what it will be like in 20 years morality wise. Technology wise it is going to be awesome.

However, the “trailer” lied about what it was going to be. It was NOT a light hearted comedy, as portrayed in the trailer.

The same thing happened to me:

The Shining

I saw “Interstellar” over the weekend.

Technically spectacular, I am disappointed such fine actors lent their talents to a story that put all of its faith in the efforts of man, with nary a nod to the Creator.

Go see “Unbroken” at Christmas.

I may go see Foxcatcher...it looks to be an authentically true story put to film.

I would be a fan of Cameron (better?) if he wouldn’t make conservatives look like fools. I remember you slobbering over yourself about American Carol too. You have absolutely no credibility at all on conservative films. You thought that deserved an Oscar.....I never could understand that. I suppose you want Cameron to have an Oscar for this tripe.

Thanks for the warning. I thought about seeing Foxcatcher. Maybe I’ll wait for the video.

Seeing Steve Carrell do heavy drama would be interesting.

Was it as bad as “Gravity,” the other over-hyped piece of dreck outer space movie?

You are completely correct.

The enormous success of AMC's Breaking Bad and HBO's Game of Thrones proves that 11-13 episode per season one-hour shows are the future--especially with all the new shows shot for HDTV. Indeed, many movie stars are signing up to do these shows. Indeed, I would not be surprised that within the next 5-7 years we may actually see the Harry Potter books remade as a 11-13 episode per season (first three books) and 12-14 episode per season (last four books) TV series.
