Football may be king in terms of sporting popularity in the United States currently, but a recent poll suggests that participation could wane in the coming years.
According to Annie Linskey of Bloomberg, 50 percent of the 1,001 American adults polled in a survey from Dec. 3-5 said they would not want their sons to play competitive football.

I don’t really watch football anymore - if it comes on and the remote is ‘far away’ I may just leave it etc...
However..
We know the story of the concussions and the foolish sideline displays etc but I did notice something last weekend that got me thinking .. Two clowns gave each other a DOUBLE HEAD BUMP over a tackle or interception...funny that is fine but had previously (or later??) saw where the punter got his kick off, did an Oscar winning performance of getting ‘dumped’ etc and I figured no foul...
Was then that the announcer said the foul was because the guy that attempted to block the punt didn’t roll AWAY from the punter (his momentum) kept him in range...
Like they said (Sam Huff or one of the other ‘great linebackers) when the League started protecting Fran Tarkenton and Joe Namath and the LB’s were saying ‘Why not put skirts on them and get it over with?’.....looks like that possibility may be on the horizon...<: <:
my 14-year old son played for the first time this year, and he loved it... more than he ever loved playing baseball—which he liked... i love baseball and football... i hang on every move in both sports... and i enjoyed watching my son play his first year of football... i have to admit, that they won the whole enchilada made it even more enjoyable, i’m sure...
I’d like to see deeper into the numbers, esp. the racial breakdown and the opinions of African American “families.”
Rush called this a while ago........I would like to see the statistics of soccer players and their concussions. But that won’t happen.........soccer is a world sport. We should only destroy American sports.

There are 38 million people living in California. So even the small percentage of idiot jackasses from California who are like like you would represent what seems like a large group to people in other states.
Meanwhile my two boys play football and I'm really proud of them.
Not everyone is a metrosexual. But there seems to be more of them in California, considering its politics.
