I visit both of those sites, daily, for a few minutes, but they don’t, IMHO, hold a candle to FR !

I go to Lucianne a lot because some of their members find great news articles to post, some on pretty obscure sites i would have never seen. Of course same here.

Probably half the articles I post here is something I found there first and crosspost here. (I also find some gems on ace of spades blog)

The discussion is relatively tame because the rules don’t allow you to address each other directly, except by posting #.

Lucianne Goldberg?

No disrespect, but does anyone still click her site?

Its been years since I toured the place. All articles that I find on FR. Along with pesky ads and cookies.

I was banned. My husband and I were banned within 24 hours of one another. Husband corrected the facts put forth by one of the moderators. That caused the wrath of the moderator whose name escapes me since that occurred 14 years ago. Lol. Then I was banned for questioning why husband was banned. The moderator claimed it was due to husband and I posting from the same IP address. We started the recipe threads there. And husband wrote some hilarious parodies in those days. I wish we had copies of those things.

I own a KIndle Fire. A Washington Post app was downloaded as part of a recent update. I don’t care for it because it opens up with two preselected stories in panes. Sorry Washington Post I’ll decide what stories I find of interest.

publishers will note that there's something to be said for another genre of political news site: the old-school, poorly designed link blog.

How, exactly, is Drudge poorly designed? I like the list of links with titles describing the content of the article. No stupid auto-playing videos, few pictures cluttering up the page. The only thing I don't really like is the auto-refresh that always happens right before I'm about to click a link.
