If someone breaks in your house (vanity)

Posted on 12/15/2014 8:48:20 AM PST by GreaterSwiss

Having a debate with anti-gun coworker. If someone breaks in your house and they see your face... Do you let them steal everything and assume they won't hurt you.

I claim once they see your face, that you are more likely to be hurt/killed by them and should do self-defense.

I saw one commercial where a female broke in.
A pretty blonde female, looked like a highschool cheerleader.

If they come through my closed gate (a very definite “stay out” signal here in Texas), past my dogs, and kick in my door, there will be no questions asked on my part, as the invader has already answered them by his actions. I’m not going to worry about him seeing my face- I’m going to protect my family. I also wouldn’t worry about prosecution under such circumstances...

There’s no way to convince any anti-gunner of the truth.

That’s just the way it is.

Yeah, I don’t own anything I would kill a sumbish for.

But if they break into my home, I am prepared to fight.

Anyone who breaks into a home when the residents are likely to be there likely presents a mortal threat.

"I claim once they see your face, that you are more likely to be hurt/killed by them and should do self-defense."

In some states you can use deadly force to defend your home from a forcible break-in, whether they threaten you or not. In some states you can't unless there is an imminent deadly threat. In neither case is them seeing your face a legitimate factor.

Good evening.

If someone breaks in your house...

If someone breaks into your house shoot them, period. Ask questions later...

Remember, it is better to be judged by 12 than carried by 6.
