The owners of the Miss World pageant have announced that there will be no swimsuit round in next year's competition. In an interview with Elle, chairwoman Julia Morley explained: 'I really... don't need to see women just walking up and down in bikinis. It doesn't do anything for the woman. And it doesn't do anything for any of us.' She added: 'I don't care if someone has a bottom two inches bigger than someone else's. We are really not looking at her bottom. We are really listening to her speak.'

So now it is an intellectual contest? But they still parade in gowns so I guess it is something of a gown contest too. What happened to all-over fitness, proportion, and beauty from eye brows to ankles?
You are right. I don’t often watch these beauty pageants, but when I do I certainly want to see the women in bikinis and evening gowns. Forgive me, Lord, but I want to see butts and breasts (covered, of course). I don’t know how one has a beauty pageant without having the women display their beautiful parts...

I personally believe that U.S. Americans are unable to do so because, uh, some, uh, people out there in our nation don't have maps and, uh, I believe that our education like such as in South Africa and, uh, the Iraq, everywhere like such as, and, I believe that they should, our education over here in the U.S. should help the U.S., uh, or, uh, should help South Africa and should help the Iraq and the Asian countries, so we will be able to build up our future for our children.
This will make the talent portion of the contest really important...
