President Giuliani, 2016? [Vanity] [Over my dead body - jimrob]
December 22, 2014 | CivilWarBrewing

Posted on 12/22/2014 10:27:27 AM PST by CivilWarBrewing

In the wake of recent police shootings of Brown and Garner, murder of police officers, and the overall distrust and tension fomented by DeBlasio, Sharpton, Holder, Obama, etc., primarily in New York, Giuliani has placed himself in the spotlight by speaking out against these troublemakers.

His soothing yet firm demeanor is reminiscent of Ronald Reagan and could be just what America needs following a chaotic eight years of the amateur in the White House.

Ask yourself a few questions.....First, DO YOU WAN A REPUBLICAN TO WIN?

What North Eastern Republican has won in the last 50 to 75 years?

Why?

What known social liberal Republican has won in that time?

How about scandal ridden Republican?

Etc., the list can go on and on with Giuliani. Instead of doing the same crap over and over that is guaranteed to lose why not run someone who can actually win, not someone rinos wish could win but never will so they can keep power.

Because real New Yorkers don’t want to live in Albany.

Sadly, Giuliani is a liberal republican in social areas. I say sadly because there is so much about the man that is impressive. He is without peer in being able to get a crowd on its feet. He is a masterful speaker. One of the best I’ve ever heard.

My choices are:

1. Cruz - no blemishes
2. Scott Walker - only a few blemishes.

I really don’t want a dynasty, so I’m opposed to the poor little rich kid, Jeb Bush. His liberalism disqualifies him, but we should reject him just because we never really wanted a royal family.

LOL.

As a former resident of Geneva, NY, one does tire of the transplanted New Yorkers one meets everywhere, claiming to be from "Upstate," by which they mean Yonkers.

Thanks CivilWarBrewing. He's actually eligible for another mayoral term if he wants to go for it. That would be a better move for him, and for NYC. Not too sure I'd want him for POTUS, but I'd take him over any Democrat (especially including D-in all but name Rand Paul).

Rudy was a fabulous mayor and turned NYC into a livable city for a while. But let's face it, his somewhat politically incorrect and draconian methods and mildly amusing megalomania turned the Big City Leftists against him.
"Thanks for cleaning the place up. You may go now."

They in particular used his "'take no prisoners, '0' tolerance" attitude toward the minority communities' endemic crime to paint him as ....gasp .... racist! Can't have that. Not at this cocktail party or gallery opening!

At his age and mine, the idea of a 'Black Hero' is rather more like Booker T. Washington, Louis Armstrong, or Jackie Robinson, than Al Sharpton, the Garner crook, the Trayvon thug, or the Gentle Giant of Ferguson.

I don't know about a comeback in NYC. NYC's élites like clean safe streets, but they desperately need Leftist boolshiite even more. They are largely immune to danger as they live in the equivalent of gated communities, have personal security on many levels, and do not use public transportation much. The city turns into Lagos around them, but hey, they're safe.

BTW, why hasn't Al Sharpton been charged with inciting to riot?

In retrospect, Rudy was far and away the best candidate in 2008.

I personally disagree with many of his positions, but the man is a LEADER. He doesn’t muck around and worry about consequences...he acts.

Plus, he loves his country and has first hand knowledge of the danger it faces. In addition, he can tell the difference between our allies and our adversaries.

Unfortunately, many elected officials don’t share his antipathy towards countries with terrorist connections.

Most of those who may have supported him here on FR and who are still around, knew enough to keep their mouth's shut.

Agreed.

Every time some high profile politician says something good on one issue, there are too many FReepers who assume that said pol would make a good president.

So, what do you think FReepers? President Giuliani 2016 or what?

First Romney, then Jeb and now Rooty?

Please tell me we don't have to go through this crap all over again.
