I'm sorry to be the one to tell you, but as one brother to another, you have insufficient faith. For this, you need at least Faith70.

You're welcome! I'm praying for you (literally).

Browsers: IE11 uses Adobe Flash Player (at least on my system). Google Chrome uses HTML5.

It’s been my experience that Adobe Flash is buggy when it’s not updated. Worse, if you had the bum rush of Windows updates applied this past week and your player was already out of date, you may have created the problem by not letting the updates run (been there, done that myself).
You can go here http://get.adobe.com/flashplayer/
to update Adobe Flash Player if you’re using Internet Explorer (IE).

I have so many browser problems these days on different websites that I installed Google Chrome as an alternate browser (the others, Opera etc., don’t seem to work as well). I’d recommend Chrome if you don’t have it.

If you have another browser to try, my bet is you would have sound.
Hopefully the update fixes it since you’re in IE.

Merry Christmas!

Now I remember: for IE

Tools, Internet Options, Advanced, play sounds on web pages.

See if that’s it.

The windows computer I fixed this morning had the power cable to the speakers loose. The looked it was inserted but it wasn’t in far enough.

I always click on these threads to read. It's great that folks want to be helpful, but...

I've learned over many years of troubleshooting aircraft avionics that understanding the problem is the most important step.

Example: If someone says that they can hear some sounds (win7 ding), but not others (YouTube), it's ridiculous to ask if the speakers are plugged in.

Do you have a picture of a speaker along the bottom or side of your desktop screen, just check and make sure you sound is turned up on high. If so, then look elsewhere, if that does not work.

If no sound, then got to control panel and hit ‘
‘hardware and sound’, then you and adjust the sound for some software. That is how my laptop is set up and I have W-7.

Hope that helps.

You shouldn’t ‘have’ to reboot after updating flash (only the browser), but you might do that anyway.

Ah...one thing I failed to mention: Check the version of your IE Browser (Tools > About Internet Explorer).

If it’s not IE11 and the checkbox for ‘update automatically’ is NOT checked, and you have no tangible reason to not let it update (some businesses, such as ours, cannot have that due to vendor applications)...

...you should update the browser as well

http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/internet-explorer-11-for-windows-7-details.aspx

I hope that fixes it. If not, get Chrome and hope another ‘update’ fixes IE in the near future (probably will).

I am about the least computer savvy but I suggest you try: Start —> Control Panel —> Hardware and Sound —> Sound —> Adjust System Volume. Then adjust sliders.

Look in your “view” dropdown menu, it might be there and not being shown in default mode
