Liberal novelist Stephen King regrets asserting that if you don't learn how to read, you'll end up in "the Army, Iraq." The comment, widely seen as a shot at the military, was first publicized six years ago on NewsBusters. In an interview with the Huffington Post, King was asked if he stood by the remarks.
The author lamented, "No. That was just a case of misspeaking and also having one of those brain cramps that you realize that you're no longer living in the world that you grew up in...If I could take one remark back, that would be the one."

The artistic elitists all jumped on that bandwagon of progressive hate and insanity and they ushered in Obama and all the problems we’ll be dealing with for decades - if we can even ever recover. This country’s institutions have all been vandalized. It’s like we have been through a big race riot conducted by anyone with any power.

The one Stephen King book I have started to read. Note, started, not finished is Cell Phone (think that’s the name)
Absolutely juvenile prose. Choice of words, structure is junior high level.
I couldn’t finish it.
If that represents his ‘talent’ he is grossly overrated.
Well, I’ve never said a stupid thing in my whole life...
This is the reason that, if I do read horror/sci fi, I buy Dean Koontz. His Odd Thomas character is the kind of stand up, honorable, self made young man that most Freepers would like.
I heard “A rectal thermometer has a lot of degrees.” You can change it to “baby’s thermometer” if you want to make it less crude.
Even when you run over them with a car.
Just another famous IDIOT.
I read Stephen King novels while I was in the military - early 1980s. “Carrie”, “Salem’s Lot”, “Christine”, “Dead Zone”, “The Stand” and the “Different Seasons” short stories were some of them.
