Edward Herrmann-"Gilmore Girls" Star Dead at 71

Edward Hermann, perhaps best known for playing Richard Gilmore on "The Gilmore Girls"- died this morning in a hospital in New York. He was 71.

OHH he did good job on Russia Land of the tsars I remember that special

Most scariest role he ever did he was pro life activist who target NY Abortion clinics boy he was scary that on fourth season of Law and Order mothership

How awful.

He was one of my favorite TV personalities. He was always so dignified. Kind of the personality that you would have loved to seen a president with.

My wife loved the Gilmore Girls and will especially be sad to hear this.

I remember him him in a MASH episode playing a doctor with PTSD and check him out as s William Randolph Hearst
in ‘The Cat’s Meow’...VERY underrated actor..

He played FDR in the original Annie movie...and that was in 1982. He had quite a prolific career:

Yes, I think that's the first role I remember. His voice was so distinctive that I kept seeing him in other parts and saying, "Hey, it's that guy from that MASH episode!"

I have met some people who have worked with him. To a man, they all say he was just like his characters, dignified and classy.

Maybe he was best known for his role in Gilmore Girls (do TV get famous, it’s a law of the universe) but he did so many great things.

RIP, guess God wanted him for the New Year’s Party. Louise Ranier will be there too.
