I was at one point amazed by it and asked how it's done. Apparently, you fake crying and while beginning to do so remember something that actually did make you cry. The combination of going through the motions and summoning the emotions will make genuine tears. There is no stigma for women crying, and often it's rewarded. The more manipulative learn this lesson all too well.
Well, maybe I'm just innocent and would never think of manipulating a man (or anyone, for that matter). I remember being young and starting to cry and having men react with, "Oh, no. Don't cry!" as if I had any control over it. It always hurt when I was accused of doing it on purpose. I guess I'm just not a manipulator.
it’s called method acting. women are the best emotional manipulators out there. we all had moms, and we all know about their relationships with their moms. men don’t see it coming. until way too late.
women cry in court and almost always get lesser sentences. much more inclined to get people to believe an insanity plea - how could a WOMAN commit such an act and be sane? paternalist judges and jurors.
Here's an update for you. I spoke to my husband last night and he hasn't seen much of this, but he says that he believes some people are capable of it. He thinks that people who are very emotional to begin with can probably make themselves cry on cue.
But, the more interesting update is regarding the conversation I had with a female friend about this last night. As soon as I started talking about whether or not women could cry on command, she started nodding her head. She told me that a woman she works with recently wanted something from her husband that she knew he wouldn't want her to have (not sure exactly what the situation was) and she told my friend that all she'd have to do is make herself cry and she'd get it. Sure enough, it worked. But, my friend also said that she can't imagine being able to do that or even wanting to do that. And honestly, I don't have any friends who would do that. Maybe they did when they were younger, but certainly not now in our fifties.
Seriously...you think women cry on cue? Maybe actresses or those trained to do so, or maybe you are hanging out in wrong places where manipulation and con are a lifestyle.
Real women do not have time to be so silly.
