Values that some will toss in their cult of Sarah.

Understood. You're coming in loudly and clearly.

Liberals attack personally when they aren’t winning a conversation.

Agreed. Even faux conservatives.

(None so blind as they who will not see and think no one else can.)

Go back and look at the posts, who attacked - therefore, who is the liberal.

I think that having the belief that voicing anything that isn’t 100% supportive of Sarah Palin means that the person is evil, attacking and hates Sarah Palin— that is irrational.

Mindread incorrectly much?

Irrational is PDS. And it is almost impossible to hide year after year on FR.

...therefore, who is the liberal.

Probably neither one of us.

But you sure do post just like a underground FR lib under deep cover. Your turn.

Here, lets compare comments shall we:

This person suggested a dad be locked up, that he was a looney tune. I thought that dad’s way of getting the tooth pulled seems creative. No problem.

On the other hand, you think my saying that parents should teach their children to not step on strange dogs is comparable. I didn’t say that parents should be locked up if they don’t. I didn’t say Palin did anything wrong. In fact, I am on record as thinking it is kind of cute. What a special relationship the child has with his dog.

Just saying that as a matter of bigger society, maybe you will want to teach your child that outside of the house, they may not want to do this. It might save some heartache for a lot of people involved.

For instance, you stop by my house where I have a nippy chihuahua. When you come over, the first thing I am going to tell you is to leave him alone. Don’t seek him out, don’t try to pet him, leave him alone.

But, since your parents were obviously failures at teaching you boundaries, you go ahead and do what you want, despite my request. My dog bites you. You report it. Now, you have had physical pain, and I get to suffer financial and legal pain.

Just because you didn’t have responsible parents that taught you to respect boundaries.

Thanks liberal parents.

This paragraph tells me enough. No thanks...and so long.

Hmm. Thank goodness, got you off my case. Maybe next time I will bring Taz out to visit you in public. Keep you even further away.

Again, you missed the point. You are so busy looking for a reason to attack - overwhelming evidence of a liberal - that you can’t see the message.

I don’t pay attention to the tired shallow and infantile insults thrown by pusslianimous zeros who hide behind anonymity....you don’t matter, if you did, we’d know who you are. We dont.

Please, you and I have had this discussion - where have I said Palin did anything wrong? Find it before lobbing accusations.

Basically, here’s Sarah Palin calling you a jackass and a namby pamby liberal - which you probably are.

you keep saying that, and yet you keep jumping on her defenders. What gives?

I think I smell a rat. It’s kind of odd to jump in and defend a position you claim not to agree with. Very odd.

The poster jumped on me personally, saying that I wanted to force my world view on everyone else. I have defended myself against that poster. Nothing to do with Palin.

When I said that it is probably a good idea to teach children to not step on dogs as a general rule, to keep them safe from dog bites, I was attacked as wanting to force everyone to live the way I do. Why worry about something that didn’t happen and probably won’t happen.

They continued to come back at me with very personal attacks.

When we go down a road where we attack internally based on political ideology vs. common sense discussion, then we are no better than the left.

This is no better proven than this situation. A liberal posts the same picture months before and no outcry from PETA. But PETA is so ideological that they have someone watching Palin’s every move looking for the opportunity to pounce. The pounce was made purely out of political reasons rather than rational thought.

When we attack each other for the same reasons, we are no better. No broader point discussion allowed. Toe the party line.

but no mention of the fact that this is a special needs child with a dog specifically trained FOR THIS CHILD.

That changes the whole “good idea to teach children” blah blah blah totally. And BTW, a candid photo can show a scene where children are doing something they were not “taught to do” -and may “not be a good idea” in general - but is cute and harmless anyway.

Like this one.

I think both pictures, from both mothers, are amazing. I love when we include animals in our childrens’ lives. It expands their understanding of our world and relating to it.

Again, Trig has a relationship with his service dog that is amazing. The fact that a dog would allow him to stand on him is incredible. Very touching.

That doesn’t mean that someone can’t say: probably should teach children to not step on dogs, in general. That is not an attack on Palin, it is just people having a discussion.

We spend way too much time weighing our responses on the political ramification.

actually I’m not weighing it politically at all...more just those who lean towards nannyism versus those who can laugh at themselves and have a good time.

But this “teach kids in general” is just bullshit. This was not a how to video. This was not an endorsement of an activity. This was a touching funny photo. I’m sorry, this “teaching kids” flapdoodle is just over the top nannyism and pharisaical, rigid, humorless, curmudegeonish.

No, you are right, we should be able to enjoy things. I do things with my dogs that I would not do to other people’s dogs, and would not allow anyone coming into my house to do to my dogs. And, unfortunately because of what I see people do to each other on the internet, I wouldn’t post photos of doing these things.

I see the nannyism all of the time, and just as I posted in one of my replies, you will see where just this morning, a poster on FR said that a dad should be locked up for the way he helped his son pull a baby tooth.

But, where can we discuss things that we see going wrong with our society and civilization on the bigger stage? Sometimes these pictures get us to talking a bit. There is nothing wrong with it. I didn’t say Palin should be locked up. And in no way is there anything wrong with the picture.

Ok, I need to get up and do some chores around the house. Please, again, do not think I am attacking Palin. Really sweet family photo.

But, I will stand my ground in saying that we can have broader societal discussions without it being nannyism, just people chatting.

Funny story for you. A year or so ago around here, a mom stopped at a gas station or somewhere to get a cup of coffee. She left her car running, child in the car, which was promptly stolen.

All of my peers at work were attacking the poor mom. Essentially, she should lose her child and go to jail for leaving the child in the car. (they would never have done that).

Me: Really? What about that jackass that stole it. Let’s hold him responsible. Mom did nothing wrong.

That is nannyism. When we criminalize decent people doing their best to go through this world.
