We absolutely enjoyed your presentation, thank you for creating it. It is hard to believe we have been at this thread for so long. It seems to me that American Idol was merely the excuse for getting together, and there was something bigger going on here.

That thread was pure fun for 10 years, and in between the fun, there was heart and warmth and friendship and intelligence. You done good.
I’m still one of the people in the crowd (an NC crowd too!) meme wringing my hands, wondering where I’m gonna go now!? Save your list in case you ever want to watch TV with your friends again! I bet you can call us out to watch anything with you. Jake from State Farm commercials, college lacrosse, old game shows from the 1980s.... We will be there.
I’m more sad about you retiring than I am American Idol!

Well, maybe I'm feeling homesick already, but there's going to be a show on early next year that I wouldn't mind watching, but only if all of you are interested.
January 2016 is a long time away and anything can happen between now and then. But the show would be short--only 6 episodes, airing once a week. I think I could manage that.
Also, we could use the X Files thread as an informal Idol thread if (big if) anything interesting happens on that show.

Oh my GOODNESS, Yaelle! I LOVED that! That was perfect, and it made me laugh out loud- truly. And maybe I did get a little verklempt-
I was a late bloomer on these threads as well, though it feels as if I have been here forever. My husband, though never having posted, even participated by making snarky comments on the sidelines and having me read your comments out loud. He still calls David Archuleta “Monchichi” Hahahaha! This thread- this place- has been like my favorite fleece jammie pants and big sweatshirt- so very comfortable.
Though, I only know y’all from these threads, I think of you as friends. You guys are- at the risk of getting Barry’s big boy panties in a wad- simply EXCEPTIONAL.
I have never watched a single X Files episode but I am in. Just because of you and your gang of Merry pranksters. Remind us! And if you wish to watch any show together but just join in on threads and have some one of us do the hosting and reminding, let us know because maybe someone else could do that part. (I would volunteer but I’m one of THOSE who would start three hours late. You know. Cause of that earth rotation thingy.)

You don’t want to emcee The Voice? You want to moderate comments for x files? It’s probably easier than a competition trying to follow all the contestants. AI made some superstars but they made a lot of forgettable winners too. We’ll probably see them in the fall.

That was spectacular! I always knew to come back and check for your comments. How I will miss this thread. It was my sanity when I was going through some rough times during a couple of the years. Count me in on an X-Files thread.
