In before Snarks
A long strange trip, indeed.
Gee, I can’t tell you how un-excited I am at this news right now!
Well, they were never my thing, but it’s got to be a big thrill for the Deadheads to see their musical heroes for one last tour.
Myself, I’m more excited about Alice in Chains playing the NFC championship halftime ceremony. Wish Layne was still alive to play it with the guys.

Very cool. Nothing at all wrong about this.

God damn...I declare...Have you seen the like? Their walls are built of cannonballs, their motto is “Don’t tread on me.”
Awesome. One of my favorite bands. I was lucky enough to see them in Sacramento three or four times (can’t remember exactly, go figure). We lost so many awesome musicians around that time...Jerry, Frank Zappa, Johhny Cash, Warren Zevon.
I was going to say...that headline is a bit deceiving. Unless the concert is in hell.
Just won’t be the same without Jerry.
The Grateful Dead can never exist without Jerry Garcia. He was the heart and soul of what they were, and had an intuitive feel for the music they played.I saw them live 80-100 times in the 70s and 80s, enough to realize that Garcia was the Grateful Dead.
I’m not a Deadhead, but I have seen them many times in concert. Jerry Garcia was transcendent on the guitar and the music is on a whole different level. It must have been a trip in the Haight - Ashbury days with Kesey, Owsley, Big Brother and the “Airplane”

I’m sure I missed one of the names that one or more members of the Dead have played under since 95 when Jerry died.
These guys have been doing this for the last 20 years.
Phil Lesh and friends sounds like the Allman Brothers meets the Dead with a side of Steely Dan.
And I like it.
Won’t see the shows, though, back in the day disliked the ‘scene’ but was a fan of the music.
Man, I’m getting old. I grew up loving ELP, Yes, King Crimson and Zappa, then became a Dead fan when I was into my twenties. Never saw them live, but you can spend literally weeks watching concert footage now because they encouraged their fans to tape them.
What does a dead-head say when the pot runs out?
