Coach Bill Belichick said he did not know of any issue with the Patriots’ game balls in Sunday’s AFC Championship, and did not learn the league was investigating his team until Monday morning. He also said he did not know how the Patriots’ footballs became underinflated during the game.

Like Nicole told OJ, “Yeah, I was cheating. What are you gonna do about it?”

Fans want high scoring passing games. Drop the rule a couple of pounds and let everybody prove themselves next year

Cheating isn’t ok if you didn’t need to cheat to win.

Aaron Rodgers has his over-inflated because he feels it gives him better touch and he has huge hands. QB’s have been changing the PSI of footballs for years. In the world of football crimes this is a misdemeanor.

There’s an old saying in NASCAR “if we cheat the rule book in 10 different ways and get caught at say 6 of ‘em, well, we’re still 4 to the good”. Wonder what else they’re doing.

Wow, who to root for in the Superbowl?

The team of despicable cheaters and liars, or the team with the Christian quarterback and the guy who rides a bicycle?

Such a tough choice ....

Naturally, excellence is now frowned upon in the NFL, and just about everywhere.

In the age of parity, that one or some might arise above the rest, is simply unacceptable.

Somehow, this hate Belichick stuff is starting to look a lot like certain political philosophies ordinarily disdained on Free Republic threads.

I liked Russell Wilson because of his Christianity as well.

Except they purposely lowered it below the amount allowed in the rules. That there is cheating, my friend. Tainted for all of history...this patriots organization.

I suggest that the league give him and Brady a year to do nothing but think it over. Maybe then they can come up with an explanation. If what happend in New Orleans was worth suspension then so is this.

Rogers may have over inflated the balls before they were given to the refs who (if they were doing their jobs) would have deflated them before returning them. The way I understand it is the refs are given the balls to approve of and then they return them. If the balls are manipulated after the refs have approved them it’s a different issue. Same here. If the patriots deflated them before giving them to the refs to approve then it’s not so serious, although still a little devious.

(Whoooooosh......)

Did everybody hear that? That was the Buck did a complete fly-by. What the heck is the head coach having absolute no knowledge about how the team’s functioning?

Why hasn’t anybody tried to get the game day officials to comment on their mistakes?

Cheating in the NFL!? Everyone here is up in arms as though half the players on the teams they root for aren’t taking PEDs.

The sanctimonious hypocrisy is risible....

Not so, not in the NFL. Rogers over-inflated before giving the balls to the refs who would then have corrected them (if they were doing their jobs.) If Rogers (or anyone else) reflated or modified the balls in any way after the refs approved them it is a serious matter
