BTW, that applies to the officials too...and apparently the Colt who made the interception.
It also applies in reverse, when the Pats had a Colt ball set in the first half and other than the markings no one noticed.

I was unaware of the Vikings heating the ball on a cold day, and don’t know the rules regarding that, if the rules were broken, the penalties should result.
As for the “no one can feel a difference” etc etc, why did they do it? For no reason? Unlikely.
NBA basketballs, according to USA Basketball, are 29.5 inches in circumference while the WNBA’s basketballs have a maximum circumference of 29 inches. Both should be inflated to between 7.5 and 8.5 pounds per square inch.

Actually, a little less air in the ball would make it travel slower and not as far or as accurate.
Getting a better grip is not the same as making a baseball take unnatural dips/turns - a little rosin versus a nail file.

The referees, who are in control of the balls, and have full authority to change out substandard balls at will, for any reason, or for no reason at all, and who apparently for a few plays swapped the Patriots ball with a Colts one?
Physics, for allowing the footballs to act like other inflated objects and follow the principles of the ideal gas laws despite the NFL rules?

It’s funny how everybody’s impressions of different former athlete’s change based on which side they fall down on in this controversy. Everybody who thinks Brady is full of crap has a reason to hate or be jealous. And Joe Theismann? Now Pats fans think Theismann is awesome? That is truly rich. The Refs only checked the Patriots stash of footballs.
The Refs checked both team’s footballs.
The footballs were confiscated and inspected after the game.
The footballs were confiscated, inspected, corrected and given back to the ball handlers at halftime.
The referees inspect the footballs before the game.
The referee’s SOP is to inspect the balls before the game and at halftime.
The teams get their footballs back from the ref 2 hours before kick-off.

Here’s my take from the press conference. If we want to go based on what Tom Brady and his faithful fans have said... Tom Brady is a liar.
The Patriots faithful have declared as “fact” that the Patriots’ footballs were confiscated, re-inspected, re-inflated to legal limits at halftime and the Patriots went on to score even more points than they did in the first half. We do know something was amiss when they lined up for the 1st snap from scrimmage at the start of the second half. There was a delay and they switched the ball out and the referee consultant on TV suggested it was because the first ball was the “kicking” ball. I have not seen anything confirming that the footballs of either team were checked at halftime.
Okay, so let’s go back to the press conference. Tom Brady was adamant that the footballs are prepped by the ball handlers to his particular liking and then they are submitted to the refs for inspection. At that point, Brady says, the footballs are perfect, just the way he likes them, and he does not want anyone to touch them or alter them in any way (i.e., scuffing, adding air in or taking air out, etc...) What I do know is that a high school quarterback can tell the difference of +/- 2 PSI in a football. Certainly, one of the best quarterbacks ever at the highest level of his sport does as well. A veteran, 37 years old so he’s been playing football at a high level of competition (HS thru Pro) for 20 years. He handles the ball 70 times a game. Joe Theismann is full of crap if he says he couldn’t tell, Tom Brady knows what 2 PSI feels like in a football. As Justin Wilson, rest his soul, used to say, “GaaaRON...TEE”
Now... Tom Brady goes on to say in his press conference that he was unaware of anything until Monday morning when he was asked a question during a radio interview.
So, Tom Brady, greatest quarterback ever, smart, competitive, meticulous and very particular about the footballs he uses (particular to the point that he joined Peyton Manning in lobbying the rules committee to allow visiting teams to supply their own footballs, btw), did not feel or sense a difference in the footballs (the one’s he is so particular about) for the entire first half of the game?
Not only that, he was not even aware that the refs had confiscated, inspected and altered his perfect (just the way he likes them) footballs at half time? And NOBODY, not even the team-employed ball attendants told him before starting the second half that the refs had just altered his perfect (just the way he likes them) footballs by adding 2 PSI of air?
And then of course, he didn’t notice a difference in the perfect (just the way he likes them) footballs from the first half to the second.
Yeah, riiiiight....
If you combine the press conference answers with the internet “facts” from homers, haters, independents and the always annoying and all-to-often, error-prone keyboard scientists alike.... it doesn’t paint a very honorable picture for Tom Brady.
So, for now, until we get some new “facts”, Tom Brady is a liar and a cheat... yet again. But, I’m certainly willing to wait for the real facts to be presented.

Reporters are 0 for 3 in determining the answers to those so far.
Supposedly, the footballs from both teams were checked and found to have no problems.
