"An actor and his role are two different things...I enjoyed Redford in the Horse Whisperer..."

I enjoyed, "The Natural."

“”He’s 78 for crying out loud.””

And I’m one year older than that and I sure don’t look that bad.......

That alone should disqualify it as a film to be seen. The entire book is based on hiking the AT. Too bad because the book is quite good and funny as hell.

100% it's making a book into a movie while taking the main character out of it...

“Little Fauss, Big Halsy” is a single movie, and pretty interesting.

I didn’t really care for The Sting, although I know most everyone else did.

Just today someone told me how good “All is Lost” is, even with Redford in it.

‘A Walk In The woods’ describes my golf game.

He and the same friend had traveled together in Europe many years earlier—Bryson’s book on that trip is also a hoot. By the end of it they were about ready to strangle each other.

Bill Bryson also wrote a hysterical book about Australia. I think it is called “In a Sunburned Country”. Then there was a very comical essay about the IRS. His writings are generally a hoot, however I do not see them translating into movies.

thank for the headsup about “All Is Lost”, but alas, we don’t get Amazon prime here in the Philippines. I’ll have to keep an eye out for it on HBO Asia...
