Is this man worshipping the two graven images of angels on top of a gold box, or is he worshipping the box itself? Why, or why not? How do you know?
This shows the depths of ignorance. Catholics draw a distinction between worship and veneration. You need to do some serious reading about Catholic beliefs before making a fool of oneself.
How would anyone know or prove that there was a three day difference between the Shroud and another artifact. One could suspect or believe that. But prove it?
He is worshipping God - in the manner that God described how to do it. Of course God was in the Ark of the Covenant - so that is different than whatever it is the Catholics do.
And different than what I as a Protesant do, as I sing songs of praise while facing a cross and communion table.
Doing the office of the high priest on day of atonement.
Lev 16:12 And he shall take a censer full of burning coals of fire from off the altar before the LORD, and his hands full of sweet incense beaten small, and bring it within the vail:
Lev 16:13 And he shall put the incense upon the fire before the LORD, that the cloud of the incense may cover the mercy seat that is upon the testimony, that he die not:
Lev 16:14 And he shall take of the blood of the bullock, and sprinkle it with his finger upon the mercy seat eastward; and before the mercy seat shall he sprinkle of the blood with his finger seven times.
Lev 16:15 Then shall he kill the goat of the sin offering, that is for the people, and bring his blood within the vail, and do with that blood as he did with the blood of the bullock, and sprinkle it upon the mercy seat, and before the mercy seat:
Lev 16:16 And he shall make an atonement for the holy place, because of the uncleanness of the children of Israel, and because of their transgressions in all their sins: and so shall he do for the tabernacle of the congregation, that remaineth among them in the midst of their uncleanness.
Lev 16:17 And there shall be no man in the tabernacle of the congregation when he goeth in to make an atonement in the holy place, until he come out, and have made an atonement for himself, and for his household, and for all the congregation of Israel.
That's "Quelle fromage," Dummie! Now, Fetchez la vache and be quick about it!
One cannot.
When I was in my twenty years I asked God “ How do I know you are real?” The day I asked I had a sleep come over me at 6 pm. Well I woke up at 2:30 am with refreshed energy. I turn on the tv. I just looked at the channel it was placed at already. It was the old wor 9 in ny. They had a movie about the “ Shroud of Turin.” I had this anointing all over me by watching. It was beautiful. I believe in it.
Do you believe He exists because of the shroud or because He answered your prayer? Just wondering.
It’s pretty obvious that that is NOT a ROMAN numeral three.
Incorrect information. Catholics do NOT worship images. Sheeeeesh...
no worries thanks for watching it its very interesting
I believe the photographer they carved a cross in his head
Does it matter Secondo Pia was an amateur photographer and he discovered the image in the Shroud of Turin
well its easy isnt it the story says it all, she wiped his face with the hanky and 3 days later the Shroud in the tomb was created. Not many people know that Gospel of the Hebrews a 2nd century manuscript states Jesus gave the Shroud to the priests servant and then appeared to his brother James talk about conspiracies
There are any number of *instructive links.* What does this one have to do with the subject of the Shroud or Veronica’s Veil?
He is referring to the obvious blood trail on the Shroud of Turin that takes on the shape of the number 3 on the image as it flowed down the forehead. Not an actual numeral 3.
I thought it a rather useful counterpoint to "the praying to images" misunderstanding another FReeper, (Javie) was having with you going on in another post.
Since you're not having the problem, I mis-posted it. I still found the link instructive because it was a a neutral discussion of an often misunderstood topic.
