Stanley Kubrick's "The Shining" is actually Stephen King's.
And it's fiction. Remember fiction? It's not reality.
And, anyway, everyone knows that movies don't influence anyone.

I think the Hotel from Shining is in Colorado.

One of the first signs I was getting old was when I watched The Shining with my then-teenaged niece.
When Nicholson stuck his head in the door and said “Heeeere’s Johnny!”, my niece promptly asked me who Johnny was. Matters weren’t much clearer when I said “Johnny Carson.”
*sigh*
Anyone want to share a glass of Metamucil?

Those who listen to the “John Batchelor Show” may be aware that his signoff medley “Midnight” is from that movie.

Hmmm....
That look in Rebecca's eyes... Role reversal? I think David may want to sleep with one eye open this winter...

I'm all jealoused out. I LOVE the Many Glacier and have spent a half dozen nights there. Visit it every time I'm through Glacier.
It's a little off the beaten path, on the east side of the park, with its own eponymous access road. Great hiking thereabouts - the Grinnell Glacier being one of the best. The grizzled b'ar will have bedded down by now but they'll see moose, elk, deer, and yes, wolves.
I'd love to do this myself some time, but I bet it's a lot of work. I'll be following their blog. Thanks for posting!
Oh, and there are relatively few axe murders there. Ten, twenty a season, tops. ;-)

At the 1994 Winter Olympics in Lillehammer Norway, Hillary Clinton stayed in a closed-down bankrupt hotel, that was brought halfway back into service for her and her entourage.
Just saying.
