The Star Spangled Banner rendition by Madison Rising (Vanity)

I recently saw the end of some TV show where a band called Madison Rising did a great new rendition to the Star Spangled Banner. As a muscian and a rocker it touch me and I just want to share it with all Patriots.

TOPICS: Music/Entertainment; Society
KEYWORDS: music; patrioticband; society
It starts out humble but then goes into a hard rock version of our National Anthem. Some traditionalists may not like it, but is very moving knowing the band is the most Patriotic rock band out there. There version of America at the end of the CD is also good.

Warning: Traditionalist may not care for it, especiall those who don't like rock. Just keep in mind that Madison Rising's songs are patriotic on all 3 of their discs. This is something our yutes could possibly identify with. Not sure I can post it here due to copywright. Just Google.

I had been raving about to my wife and she bought me the CD for Val/Anniverary Day. She loves it, also. I behoove all Patriots to listen to find this wonderfully Patriotic band and listen with an open mind. It is very powerful.

The lead singer hits some untraditional notes that add some interest to the original arrangement, all while keeping the reverance of song. It's not Jimi Hendrix screatching on his guitar which I never cared for.

I will be including it in a slide show like the many years back, With Love and Affection CD/DVD' with all the wonderful street rallies showing their love and support for our Troops facing the invasion of Iraq in 2003. This one will not focus on the war or Troops so much, but will be collage of what is still good in the Shining City on the Hill.

All are encourage to send remakes of our most revered Patriotic songs and photos of our beautiful countryside, city monuments, Americans with their families and dogs, anyone you know to be true American. et al.

You can send the above and comments what you think would work to educate our the GenX and the Millinials. Photos (personal if you give permission), videos, background scenes, selfies, music, songs, short on the street statements by young Americans that have a positive message.

Remember, this will be directed toward our youth in a way they can relate to.

The only submissions I don't ask for is Hip-Hop. But then, if clearly spells out our American values in a music format they will listen to...well...that could work, also.

Please don't send special issue stuff. I'd like to keep on a simple Patriotic theme showing the best of our Americ. Smiling troops photos are welcomed.

Please send your entries to my personal email: rhunter2@cox.net.

If you haven't seen my VetsCoR "With Love and Appreciation" slide show, please check it out and you'll get the idea what I'm attempting here. That video was highly received by our Troops in country and many here.

If this takes off, it will be free of charge for shipment on CD/DVD. The With Love...videos were free for our Troops, but we (VetsCoR) had to charge a small fee to others to pay for materials, shipping boxes, and postage. It built that much demand.

May or may not occur this time since it is mostly going to our High School and College Students. It's time for me to get back in the mix and one the ways we can promote our American values to our youth is by touching them with music, graphics, and videos they can relate to. Again: rhunter2@cox.net

Also, open to suggestions for a title, such as:
Your Land of the Free;
Remembering American Values;
Remembering America's Greatness;
America. A Shining Example;
From Sea to Shining Sea;
America Awakens;
What America Gives;
America Through the Eyes of Our Youth;
America Gave the World a New Direction;

Corny, but you get the gist. Just don't go negative. The idea is to inspire our dumbed down youths in a way they can identify. We need to motivate their inherent goodness and hopefully reverse some of they're negative teachings in our public schools by those who have no clue what America has done for this World.

I’m a traditionalist. I generally don’t like variations on the good old patriotic or gospel tunes. I get tired of “artists” mocking these songs with their artsy fartsy renditions.

Thanks for sharing your thoughts on this one. I found it, listened to it, and was pleasantly surprised. It captures the spirit of the song in a fresh and passionate way, while maintaining the dignity and respectfulness. Very nice.
