I was hoping the Wes Anderson would pull t off. It won so many of those early awards I thought it had a shot. These days it seems that films that win editing, cinematography awards awards never win BP.

AMERICAN SNIPER GOT SCREWED

No one seriously expected Sniper to win (though I would've loved to have seen the look on Sean Penn's face if it had).

I'm just glad Selma didn't pull an upset that would've obviously looked like false praise from a chagrined Academy.

Why didn't you like it? Chris Kyle, of course, was a hero. Without question. But also, in his own way, Judge Frank Johnson (depicted in Selma) bravely stood for what's best about America.

American Sniper grossed 304 million. Birdman grossed 36 million. AS won the popular vote.

No offence, but neither was rememberable and “Hannibal” was a prequel/sequel. And I don’t remember her in either.

The highest grossing film of 2014 was ‘Transformers: Age of Extinction’. That had no chance either.
