They skipped Joan Rivers on purpose from the memoriam.

The memoriam segment honors deceased members of the Academy. Rivers was never a member.

Black jackass singing song said "that's why we marched with our hands up in Ferguson".

Someone should tell the dumbass the story of Michael Brown with his hands up was a lie.

Why did they do that?

Next year is going to be a bigger disaster than this year for Hollywierd and they are too arrogant to realize it.

This equal pay thing is such BS... In every company I have worked for in the 30 plus years we have always had a pay scale for each position. It didn’t matter if you were white, black male or female. Your pay was based on the job scale.

The 76 cents for every dollar is junk science to begin with. The facts are women tend to take lesser paying jobs due to their education and leaving the marketplace to have kids.

It is just another Marxist lie.

They also ignored Irene Dunne when she died, even though she was a major star in the 30s and 40s. She was an anti-communist.

Yes, but they also gave Elia Kazan a Lifetime Achievement Award in 1999 and he "named names" to HUAC.

Joan Rivers wasn't snubbed for politics. She just wasn't particularly involved in movies. The Oscars took heat a few years back for leaving Farrah Fawcett off the "in memoriam" segment for the same reason.

Dunne was an Irish Catholic. Kazan was hooked up with the liberal community.

The funniest moment was when he stated “there are more black men incarcerated today than suffered under slavery” he dramatically paused for the expected ovation.

And

not

a

sound

was

heard

except my bellowing laughter

Was Maya Angelou? She was recognized.

Maya Angelou was also an actor so it is quite possible she was a member.

Let them make their stupid comments. They’re preaching to the choir. Nobody with any sense is watching that crap anyhow.

Joan was director for a Billy Crystal film back in the late 70s early 80s. Maya Angelo was noted...did she make films?

I have no interest in watching award shows but whilst at my mum’s house I turned on Downton Abbey and she commented that it seemed a boring program, albeit tonight’s episode indeed seemed pretty dull on the surface, so she mentioned the Oscar’s were on and I turned the channel to it. Lo and behold there’s some black guys up there and talk of Dr. King and equal rights, civil rights, whatever. I’m like “Really? what year are we in again?” All these stars creating issues, harping on the same ol same ol after all these years, just so what they do seems relevant I guess....
