There is a town in California off I-15 named Zzyzx. Named by its founder who claimed it to be the last alphabetical word in the English Language.

Spock was my favorite character. As a kid watching the show his overwhelming sense of logic that always trumped human emotionalism was quite inspiring.

Today, when trying to deal with liberal emotion driven agenda’s, I often think of that show and how I wish we had leadership in our political parties just like Spock.

Now there's a thought...retro-naming in order to capitalize on popularity...Can't believe it hasn't been done yet.

Truth or Consequences New Mexico, formerly Hot Springs.

Over time I came to appreciate Uhura over the rest.

Every series needs a strait man, and the character who acted as the adult shepherding the children through their various antics was Nichelle Nichols, not Leonard Nimoy.

I doubt it - but it’s a great question. Maybe it was the other way around... the fictional planet was named for the Canadian city...

Yes, the town was named Vulcan in the early 1900s and had streets named after Greek/Roman gods.
