My sisters and I are visiting Branson. We decided to take a drive to Memphis to see son bands on Beale. This morning, on our return to Branson, the west bound lane was being blocked by trucks and all intersections, for the next four hours traveling time, were also blocked so all westbound traffic would be funnelled onto the 55.
It was obviously a deliberate act on the truckers because there were places where they could have moved forward, but they were parked and forcing cars to be locked in as well. I assume that there might have been news about it because there were far more trucks than cars on the road and so I would think that locals were informed and chose other routes.
We'll played.
I used to think the way you did until I lived in the south for a few years. It's very different from up north. Not sure what it is but ice seems to form in a different way in the south and it is very treacherous. Maybe it's because the ground is warmer. Not sure. But just because you're used to the snow up north don't think you can drive in it the same way in the south.
So...you taking the time to visit Graceland, or what? ;-)
Everything but the planes. :)
As well they should!
racist!
I believe these illegal truckers were headed to their new homes in Wisconsin because they feel 'safe' there. In fact, truck driving is Wisconsin's most common job. Go figure.
Ups Youre's, Trucker's, !!!
What happens to the trucks? Does somebody drive them back to Mexico?
Welcome to Memphis, where semis have a daily convention.
Naah, they are like snow-birds. They have a house in Wisconsin during the summer, and una hacienda in the vierno. They just drive their trucks back in forth. Part of Obama’s and the RINOS’ plan to impregnate America from the inside out with illegal invaders.
Those Mexican trucks have an economic advantage...less emission control and better fuel economy.
They ever get I-40 to cut through town, or do they still have that dead man’s curve west of town?
Not when they are loaded down with smuggled la razans.
It’s bypass beltway 240 on both sides. I remember driving thru Memphis before the beltway was constructed. I-40 vanished and you picked it up again on the far east side of town or just before the bridge, depending on your direction of travel. That was a high adventure experience, especially at night.
“Dead man’s curve” is alive and well, thank you...pity the unaware loaded tanker truck...
Not sure how it is there, but in MA the roads are so bad that a truck could not pull over to one side.
