Los Angeles has agreed to pay a $50,000 settlement to three photographers after they were detained by LA County Sheriffs while taking pictures in public places. As part of the settlement, the city will also teach its sheriff deputies that photography is not a crime.

This is what government has told people to do and many go overboard and inundate agencies with reporting.
The poster was referring to people imaging venues which have already been imaged hundreds of times by numerous sources.
For instance Disneyland has been said to have been targeted, and it's been imaged millions of times. Same goes for almost all of our sensitive installations/facilities including nuke plants. Maps/images are readily accessed.
Really ..?? I don’t need you to defend me.
My comment was about the reality of people with evil intent taking pictures of likely targets. It has been reported in newspapers for years that people come here and take pictures of very sensitive things .. like bridges and Military sites; such as a large Naval ship passing under a very large bridge. Now, that would interest me .. if I took that route to work every day and saw the same person several times taking pictures of those 2 items, I would be curious as to why they were doing that.
If that wouldn’t peak your interest, then please don’t apply for the job of investigator in any police unit.
I don’t have any mandate from any govt organization to “report” anything.
These people were taking image of Metro Rail facilities, oil refineries and traffic near a court houses.
Again, nuke plants, CIA, Pentagon, court facilities, refineries, dams, bridges, buildings, amusement parks on and on have all been imaged *thousands* of times.
Ya mentioned bridges. In San Francisco people image the Golden Gate among other bridges hundreds of times per day. They come from all over the world and do this daily. Most all strategic bridges are the same. People image them as a matter of routine.
To be honest, since ya got down right rude here, based strictly on your comments, I have forgotten more about security issues/investigations than you ever knew.
But if ya want to call the cops on everyone ya see taking pictures, or using common off the shelf software to image the CIA, Navy ships or whatever, be my guest.
One more thing, it's your own government who is allowing/encouraging a never ending flood of Mid-easterners into the U.S. Not to mention tens of millions entering illegally from who knows where all aided and abetted government.
If there is a huge security breach anywhere, it's caused directly by your own government. And it's not accidental.
I already know those things.
That’s good.
BTW ya go to airports like LAX International building, and it’s like watching a Mecca convention emptying out...Many of which are being picked up by their relatives driving cabs.
120 miles south of that, the border resembles a Boston Marathon of millions coming in from who knows where.
I find this whole thing of government warning us to watch out for suspicious people to be a comical con job.
'Verry interesting. But schtupid.'
A case of what is good and great about America being a benefit to our enemies.
You have to Facebook to use it. No thanks.
WE should be out taking photos of the officials who will be GIVING THE ORDERS when the SHTF; leaning their locations at home and work, their travel routes, their habits and recreation. Let's see how quickly someone in a LEO uniform shows up to question us.
