He is 77. He has sold out concerts already booked nationwide.

Remember, he is only an entertainer. A rich and powerful one, more so in the past than the present. He is not an ex President or Attorney General or Governor like Bill Clinton. For all his power, it was meaningless outside of the entertainment industry. He could not get the State Police, Federal AG or a prosecutor to harass you if you crossed him like Clinton can and could.

I am pretty sure he took advantage of women he met. There is certainly appears to be a pattern. However, none of the allegations are within the Statute of Limitations. I would be interested in hearing about a claim that has happened recently. One that could lead to his prosecution.

Regardless, I will not be purchasing any tickets for his upcoming tour dates.

Reports: Cosby accuser whose complaint may fall within statute of limitations met with police

His career has been destroyed.

The reason this broke out again was that he had a whole new rebirth started, including a new TV series, and then he made a stupid mistake involving the internet and social media.

“Last month as the negative publicity snowballed, Team Cosby’s ill-fated invitation daring the Twitterverse to meme the star promptly backfired—“I DON’T ALWAYS EAT JELL-O BUT WHEN I DO IT’S NOT CONSENSUAL, AND BY JELL-O I MEAN HAVE SEX,” one detractor tweeted over a photo of smirking Cosby.

The meme disaster suggested a certain detachment from reality, as did Cosby’s apparent conviction that he could get through the interviews about his art collection without addressing the exploding scandal.

In short order, Netflix canceled a planned Cosby special, NBC quashed the development of a Cosby sitcom, and TV Land canceled reruns of The Cosby Show, the hit NBC series of the 1980s. Meanwhile, Cosby was forced off the board of trustees of his alma mater, Temple University, and historically black Spelman College suspended an academic chair endowed by Cosby to the tune of $20 million.

This past Saturday, Cosby picked up his home phone in Shelburne Falls, Massachusetts, to lecture a black freelance writer on the duty of the “black media” to “go in with a neutral mind.”

“My suggestion,” said a prominent celebrity publicist who is glad not to represent Cosby and spoke to The Daily Beast on condition of anonymity, “is that someone needs to duct-tape his mouth. Where there was risk, he chose to take the riskier path, because he believed, I’m sure, that he’s gotten away with it for so many years, it’s just going to continue. But we live in a different time and place. The ’80s are long gone. You cannot control the media anymore.””

Your take disputes the reality, Bill Cosby was restarting his career and was on the verge of doing it big time.

“In short order, Netflix canceled a planned Cosby special, NBC quashed the development of a Cosby sitcom, and TV Land canceled reruns of The Cosby Show, the hit NBC series of the 1980s. Meanwhile, Cosby was forced off the board of trustees of his alma mater, Temple University, and historically black Spelman College suspended an academic chair endowed by Cosby to the tune of $20 million.”

It defies logic and stretches the imagination that Bill Cosby, ie the lovable Cliff Huxtable, could have been a sexual Svengali for all of these decades and only a scant few knew it. What with the thriving gossip industry in Hollyweird, the need and craving for making a fast buck on ANY type of smut news or sensationalism, and the NOW movement (founded in 1966) going strong from that era and supposedly refusing to even “look into” these incidents.... I find it not just difficult, but impossible to believe all of this crap and these unfounded allegations against him decades later. I just want to know what the motive behind these accusations is. Why destroy him ‘now’? Who is orchestrating these attacks and why.

That said, he is either senile or sick (or both) re: the red silk PJ-clad video. He would have done better dressed as his olde tv persona, IMO. After all, it is that legacy and image that he seeks to preserve and defend. The red PJs seem a tad bit....defiant.

Do you mean that you don't think he did it, or that he did it, but the way it was perceived at the time was different?

When much of this was supposed to be going on it was a different era. Women didn't come forward as often. There wasn't the consciousness of "roofies," etc. that we have today. A woman might have assumed that she got drunk or that she'd done a recreational drug and whatever happened happened, I guess. Maybe she only put it together later when other women went public.

The other thing is that men got reputations in Hollywood not so much for what they did, but for their general behavior. Frank Sinatra, say, could have done the same things and had a much worse or a much better reputation depending on what he said and did outside the bedroom. You can get away with more if you act like a goofy uncle than if your public image is that of a predator.

I understand that, but the reality is he doesn’t need it. He can and should simply slink away.

The man is damn near eighty. Regardless of the outcome in this World, he has to be judged by a higher authority.

One of the reasons I believe in God is that without God too many despicable human beings get a way with it. Most we never hear about. They are just despicable in their own little Worlds. However, they and those we know about, Bill Clinton, Hillary, even Cosby need to answer to someone for the actions they took in this life.

Black America was prouder of OJ Simpson when he got away with his crimes.

You're right. I hadn't seen it that way... but it's true.

Why do you think that's the case?
