I am a Yankee fan, and your post reminded me of Jim Abbott. For those that don’t know, he was a one-armed (or more correctly, one-handed pitcher). I was watching the day he pitched a no-hitter. I am not ashamed to tell you that the tears were flowing from these old eyes that day.

Congratulations! (Between you and me, as a born-and-raised southern Californian, I have never understood why anyone would live where such weather is possible. Of course, I’ve only ever actually seen it snow twice in my entire life!)

I've spent my entire 56 years living on Lake Michigan. I have a hard time explaining to myself why I continue to live here. But, this is home. Part of the life is the changing seasons and the extremes we experience. The savage beauty of God's creation.
