It has the same "sound" - not sure how to describe it other than sound effects and "feel" - but it is not the same melody.

The law probably IS wrong. A LOT of them are. There are so many lobbyists in Washington greasing so many palms that the body of laws in this country are probably 99% unconstitutional!
Especially laws about education, healthcare, and 2nd amendment rights.
Not to mention “civil rights” for some and “Special rights” for others.
So, even though the Copyright laws affect me directly, I don’t spend to much energy thinking about them when the whole world is going to hell in an islamic handbasket! LOL!
I agree...I don’t hear it at all...other than the crowd noise behind it, which can’t possibly be protected.

I review high-end audio gear and music for several publications. The very first time I heard the Thicke/Williams song I instantly recognized it as Marvin Gaye’s tune. I assumed they bought the right to it or had some royalties agreement. I was quite surprised to learn that they had not.

I really have to do what you did. I loved that song, blurred lines (yeah, yeah, I know it’s real fresh and the vid is not safe for work, or mom, or children but I still loved it) but I don’t know (or don’t think I know) the Marvin Gaye tune.
But I do love Marvin Gaye, he did some iconic work that will never be topped.
So, I’ll remember what you said and watch it soonest.

I’m sure he must have heard it sometime. It was a pretty big hit. And I love George Harrison and both those songs. “He’s so fine” is really one of my super faves.
I’ve never known what to think about that ruling. I don’t think I would have found against Harrison, but I do hear the similarities.
I’ve told this story before here, but what the heck. I once had a strange dream that I was going to marry George Harrison, don’t know why he was never a crush. But in the dream I knew, just KNEW, that I was marrying the nicest man in the world. I always felt very fondly towards him after that.
That sounds great, gotta listen to that one!
