No, it’s not clear and I never said that or anything close to that. I said something about ALL candidates, not just Cruz. If anything it’s clear I don’t like Lane and it is he who is hurting Cruz and indeed hurting the chances of any conservative candidate

Lorianne, you are just nuts, but no, being Christian doesn’t hurt our candidates, nor does it hurt Ted Cruz, and you should find some new way to attack him, rather than for him being a Christian.

I never said being a Christian hurts Cruz.

Furthermore, David Lane (and it appears a lot of people like him) aren’t doing Cruz any favors. They are HURTING HIS CHANCES of getting elected.

Unlike you, Senator Cruz doesn't believe being a Christian hurts him, nor does he spit on David Lane, in fact this is from the web site of Ted Cruz himself.

"This morning, Cruz spoke for nearly an hour at the Iowa Renewal Project, a two-day, all-expenses-paid forum organized by David Lane, a political activist from California who has been quietly mobilizing evangelicals in Iowa for six years. Two top-name GOP politicians who are likely 2016 presidential candidates – Cruz and U.S. Sen. Rand Paul of Kentucky, both born-again Christians – are the stars of today’s sessions."

Yeah, I love it.

Lane is going to turn on one of them. Wonder which one will turn out to not be “born again” enough for Lane? I’ll be waiting.

So far your hopes seem to be against Cruz, and you have already said that you think being a Christian hurts him.

You are a very weird person.

Never said any of that, don’t believe any of that.

You seem not to be able to read.

Surely you credit yourself with the parts that I quote from you?

For instance “Furthermore, David Lane (and it appears a lot of people like him) aren’t doing Cruz any favors. They are HURTING HIS CHANCES of getting elected.”

or “”And I have less respect for Cruz (and Paul and anyone else) who pander to him. Is that clear enough?”

I’m sure it’s clear to people who can read.
That appears to not include you.

It is too bad about your lack of respect for Cruz, your total disdain for David Lane, and that you think Cruz’s Christian faith is hurting him.

Or in your words.

“Furthermore, David Lane (and it appears a lot of people like him) aren’t doing Cruz any favors. They are HURTING HIS CHANCES of getting elected.”

“”And I have less respect for Cruz (and Paul and anyone else) who pander to him. Is that clear enough?”

You use “if,” then continue as if you established a fact. Sorry you have not.

I know that guilty perps always seek out the best criminal defense attorneys, hoping to get out of the punishment that their crimes deserve. Don’t you see a parallel here?

The claim of forgiveness is the tool which the religious businesses use to gather their members and makes their money. Seriously now, how can a religion profit and grow unless it offers forgiveness?

It’s a ‘hell’ of a sales pitch.

Think about it.

You keep at it putting words in my mouth that I did not say and profess beliefs for me that I do not hold. I know that’s your style ... very immature.

However, you did FINALLY get my point that I don’t like Lane. It took you forever. But I bet you would never get why. Given your lack of reading ability, it would probably take years to explain that to you. (Hint: It’s not because he is Christian).

Nothing in your comments tells us anything about whether or not the Gospel of Christ is true.

That some men take advantage of the system for their own profit does nothing to refute the truth of its claims. This point is usually missed by detractors.

I would ask you: how can a religion grow as quickly and massively as Christianity did unless it’s true?

You assert that truth creates followers, it may. But lies also create followers. If the people sense they will receive benefits by voting a person in office or by following a religious cult (not a pejorative) they will be quick to follow.

Truth does not matter to Obama’s followers. It did not matter to Hitler’s followers. The people believed they would profit from their leadership and there you have it. Your point is refuted.

Follow me and your sins will be forgiven! The spiritual profit and benefit has entered the contest of religions. Let’s charge for forgiveness and build the Vatican!

You and I do not know if the claim of forgiveness is true. You can live your life accordingly. I will honor the Commandments as much as I can.

You seem to create points I didn’t make. Please address those I do make, thus avoiding an argument with yourself.

As for the Gospel, if it’s true then by necessity believers know it (in contradiction to your assertion). This is inherent to the doctrine—we know the truth of it because we hear the calling of the Holy Spirit.

The only way to rightfully claim believers don’t know the truth of the Gospel is first to establish it’s not true, or at the very least to establish you have ultimately concluded it’s not true. And your believing it’s not true is very different from saying you don’t know if it’s true, as you assert in your previous post.

To which you respond: You seem to create points I didn’t make. Please address those I do make, thus avoiding an argument with yourself.

Sigh.

I'm asserting that the Ten Commandments are actually commandments, not suggestions. Your argument is self-serving and without any proof. It's ALL faith; it is one where you fully believe you have spiritual gain. Mine is not.

I know you have a good heart and are a good person. If so, there is nothing wrong with being serious about the Commandments.

By itself, my heart is evil.

I only want you to be careful when you say my point is refuted. If it isn’t you shouldn’t say it is.

If it is, I’ll own up to it.

Many have claimed Christianity spread the way it did because the Resurrection truly occurred. If it didn’t occur, the whole thing is a fairy tale. But the fact that false religions or cults also spread rapidly tells us nothing about whether Christianity is true.

I got your point about the Ten Commandments. I take them very seriously because they come from God. But I’m not subject to them because of my faith in Jesus Christ as Lord and Saviour. This is explained very well in the book of Romans.

By the way, if the Ten Commandments came from man, I wouldn’t take them very seriously because they would amount to nothing but somebody else’s opinion.

Here is another thread where you can go after Lane and Cruz.

A significant organizer in this election cycle is Evangelical leader David Lane.
