We could see a person in the front seat and then we heard a voice saying, Help me, were in here. It was clear as day, said Officer Tyler Beddoes of the Spanish Fork Police Department, one of four men who pulled an unconscious 18-month-old from a car which had been submerged in near-freezing water for 14 hours as her mother lay dead in the drivers seat.
...
The vehicle crashed into the river around 10:30 p.m., according to a witness who told police he heard the accident. The car was not visible from the roadway, and was not discovered until 14 hours later, when a fisherman spotted it at 12:24 p.m. Saturday and called police.
Thats when Beddoes and his partners arrived. The witness told them that he could see an arm through the window, and the four men plunged into the freezing rapids to see if they could find any survivors.
Then, suddenly, they started hearing the distinct sound of a womans voice, calling to them to help.
...
The officers had no explanation for the mysterious voice that appeared to come from inside the car. Beddoes said he said he wouldnt believe it really happened had not the other officers heard it, as well.

I believe I do...
I ain’t afraid of no ghost.
Nice ending, happy ending. Don’t believe it. Sorry if I disappointed a few.......
So they’re all making up, huh.
Obviously a ghost. Probably the mom’s.
I don’t know, neither do you. I said the post would disappoint, and I was right.
I think the mom fought with all she had, hearing voices, she used her dying breath to save her kid. Seeing salvation at hand, she died.
Joe?
Could those words have been the young mother’s last words?
Hope the baby will be all right. Sad about the mother.
This does sound like another story - the one about Christine Skubish. People were reporting seeing an apparition of a woman lying on the side of the road, and her car was discovered in a ravine nearby. Her young son was found alive in the car with his mother’s body.
The coroner said she died 12 hours before the rescue.
I think he was simply mistaken. That whole “sat up in the coffin” phenomena. Also, freezing cold water adds a dimension to the equation.
It's also unlikely that she had just died. If you're a first responder, when you come across an accident scene it's obvious when someone has been killed instantly or has been dead a long time. From the reaction of these guys to what they heard, it's clear that this was the case here. Otherwise, they too would have assumed these were the mother's last words.
Bttt
Angel, for those who believe. Those rescuers were meant to hear that voice.
Oh I believe, and I agree with you!
More likely an angel than a ghost.
Agreed
Hebrews 13:2 Do not forget to entertain strangers, for by so doing some have unwittingly entertained angels.
Nice reminder for this topic.
God works in mysterious ways.
