Michael Harari, who has died aged 87, was a high-ranking intelligence officer in the Mossad and was known as the Zionist James Bond.
In 1970, Harari was appointed head of the Mossads special operations division, Caesarea, and established within it the Kidon (Spear) unit that specialised in assassinations. Two years later, Palestinian militants belonging to an organisation calling itself Black September killed 11 Israeli athletes at the Munich Olympic Games. Subsequently, Golda Meirs government instructed the Mossad to track down those responsible for the Munich terrorist attack and kill them one by one.

Eric Bana played him in “Munich” (2005); Steven Bauer played in him “Sword of Gideon” (1982)
I think they killed the wrong man at one point and some of the team were caught, a tragic screwup. Spielberg’s movie was written by gay communist playwright Tony Kushner, who had his own ax to grind.
The documentary on Youtube maybe lot better than Hollywood version.

And this is the operation G-d's wrath favorite tool they used, .22 Berreta.
yup, thats how its done. hunt down and execute people who have wronged you.
I have read that they loved the .22 Beretta model 70 and there is a lot to love about it. I used to have two of them and they are totally reliable and really accurate.
Not sure which model that is but it does not look like the model 70.
First thing I thought after reading the source is if Reagan and Golda had that agreement. I will look for the book and if so, the only grudge against Reagan I have had is the seeming none response to Beirut. Problem is, Hezbollah is alive and well.
Since I have learned Iran was/is behind Hezbollah the social psychologists should have told Reagan to blow up the place in plain site to let everyone know what happens when our boots are attacked. Now we have doubts about Extortion 17 being a lucky shot and wonder if in fact the SEALs were sacrificed to diffuse a terrorist response.
I did not want to be brainwashed by Spielberg, so I checked out the book: Vengeance
I wanted a more accurate version. Never went to the movie.
The reason maybe it was their favorite is, it didn’t make much noise with silencer, oh how did they fit 11 bullets within being 11 dead athletes? 10 in the magazine plus one already in the chamber?
RIP
Spielberg’s “Munich” was a blatant rip-off of “Sword of Gideon.”
I have no doubt that were he President at the time of the 9-11 attack, things would have gone quite differently. Iran would have joined Iraq as terror states whose regimes had been changed, Syria, too, and we would not have buggered out.
Yeah, I believe there were two stories circulating about the operation, the one Spielberg based his movie on was probably the more fictional one, versus the one they describe in the article with the multiple teams, which seems to come from real sources.
Indeed it is. Only terror breaks terror.
Two shooters maybe?
I can't believe the same guy who gave us Schindler's List would make a "morally equivalent", "we're all the same underneath" piece crap with Munich.
Schindler's List was brutal BECAUSE he didn't try to say, well, there are two sides to every story...
“One Day in September” the documentary with Michael Douglas I thought was pretty good.
