I hope they sink a billion or so into this. Then, when this bombs they’ll lose big, and maybe get it. Maybe.

Wow how special, what about the times you have to tromp on the gas to get out of a bad situation? Makes me want to get an old classic to avoid all this big brother crap!

that is why I specified “effetes”. Those NYTimes reporting, Drive By Media types that worship at the toilet of big government.

So if I am driving a seriously ill person to a hospital in one of these POS cars and they die because I don’t get to the hospital in time, I am going to sue Ford out of existence. (I once was actually that seriously ill person - anaphylactic shock.)

In some areas you can be ticket for impeding traffic even if you are driving the speed limit. One of those areas would be the state of Utah.

I took seven posts to point this out; bingo. Sometimes it is good to get out of the way of something and you’ll lose life and/or limb if you cannot.

Reading the story, it indicates that this function is controllable by:
1) switching it off via a dash switch, or
2) applying near full throttle (similar to the old “kickdown” switch)

They should outlaw these "Assault Automobiles." Nobody needs a car with 500, 600, or 700 horsepower and with a top speed of 190 mph, when the speed limit is 70.
It's for the children...

That will be especially funny when some teenager in Chicago hacks into the speed limit setting on the northbound Dan Ryan and changes the speed limit to 10mph.

I had about 4 minutes to live. Those extra steps - esp since I was being driven by a friend who didn’t know my car - probably would have cost me my life. Not joking.

On more than one occasion, I’ve had to speed UP to avoid an accident. What a stupid idea.

But hey, per the article you can take an extra step to turn this feature off. Of course, when you have less than a second to react in a stressful situation, that’s no worry. /SARC

Starbux had a 6% year over year increase for existing locations in 2014. In the Obama economy, that’s darn impressive.
I can’t figure them out, but they make money bigtime.
