You do realize that the "earlier German reports" was just one "report," on some guy's personal blog, and was pure speculation. Worse, it was speculation based on nothing more than that the co-pilot had spent some time in Bremen, where there is apparently a radical mosque. But, guess what else is in Bremen? Lufthansa's flight training center! So, of course the guy spent time there.
That report wasn’t “based” on a radical mosque being in Bremen, it cited one of his friends. Problem was, it did not name the friend, the friend’s relationship to him, or who spoke to the friend and reported that information, so until there’s something better than that there is no reason to assume anything yet; it could be made up.
A second unrelated report on the radical mosque was just mentioned on the thread in conjunction with that original one but it was noted there was no connection known; there is more than one mosque in the area in any case and if he was a convert it is certainly not known which he may have attended.
Another person on said thread mentioned hearing a French official say he was a recent convert to sufi islam but that freeper may be full of it.
Another person claims the girlfriend is muslim.
And another person says all he heard was the girlfriend was from another country.
So, nothing solid at all on his religion, if any. But nothing disputing the allegation either, such as confirmation that he is some other religion and therefore not a muslim convert. Of course these days there’s a lot of Europeans with no religious affiliation.
The only solid fact concerning possible motives is the torn up doctor’s report.
