I just watched "Killing Jesus". To say I was disappointed is an understatement. I found it unbearable. I understand adding pieces between the lines to flesh out the story for TV, but totally re-writing the Bible is beyond the pale. The stories of John the Baptist death, the trial before Pilot, and especially Judas and the 30 pieces of silver are totally rewritten, and the original was much better. I saw no one in this film worthy of worship, much less praise.

It was hard to relate to the real story.
I agree. No Holy Spirit dove. No healing the soldier’s ear. No walking on water - just to mention a few neglects. . Scenes very dark and too chopped up. Actor who attempted to portray Jesus looked more like a villain than a divine presence. Mr. O should stick to news commentary and even that is doubtful after the way he has been dismissing my favorite candidates. Quit while you are ahead, Bill.
That's because the vast majority of Mel's work was Biblical. He did do a little bit of dramatic license like with portraying Satan as a woman, but even that did not take away anything from the impact of the movie.
When I see Jesus portrayed, He better be as close to the real deal as possible.
It makes me think that Bill O'Reilly was sitting around one day saying, "Huh, Mel made a billion on that Jesus story. Maybe I could get a piece of the pie."
Either do it right and follow the Bible to the letter or don't bother.

Wait till you read Killing Patton. I always wondered why the estate of Jim Bishop never sued O’. The first three of O’s books were direct ripoff of Bishop.
After listening to just a bit of the interview with the Muslim actor I knew it would be atrocious.
this weekend, one of the channels was showing the 1966 version, The Bible, In the Beginning.....
It was quite good!!!
I heard this movie was sort of religiously “dumbed down”, so I’ll stick with watching Mel Gibson’s “Passion of the Christ”-an excellent film.
At least Bill didn’t choose himself to be Jesus.

No resurrection, no miracles, he seemed to be in love with Mary Magdelan, no Barrabas, no angel warning of Herod’s soldiers. Basically it was the story without any religion.

With a muslim Jesus, it had to appeal to the religion of peace.
And as a PS, to the posters who lauded Mel Gibson’s film, I say a BIG YES! ‘The Passion of the Christ’ was good, and watchable, and watchable, and...
Now for my ‘sermonette’...I believe that God gives us examples in Scripture that are accurate...Abraham’s offering of Isaac is a portrayal of God’s offering His own Son on the Cross.
We know it was on the same mountain.
Abraham’s servant, a type of the Holy Spirit, accompanied them to the mountain, but did not go up the mountain. Jesus was alone at Calvary.
Isaac carried the wood. Jesus carried the cross (not the whole ‘T’, just the cross beam)
Isaac was not the ‘young boy’, portrayed in Sunday School lessons. Isaac was 33, same age as Jesus. We know this from the next chapter that relates his mother Sarah’s death, and her age. Jesus had the power to resist the Cross, just as Isaac did. He could easily overpowered his old father, Abraham. Both went submissively.
When Isaac asked his father Abraham about no sacrifice, Abraham answered, God will provide Himself the sacrifice. And that is what God did at Calvary.
I believe the cross was ‘planted’ on the same spot where Abraham built the altar to sacrifice Isaac. God does not give us half-way analogies in things like this.
We do not see Abraham’s servant again until he is sent to fetch a bride for Isaac. In the Bible we do not see the Holy Spirit again until Pentecost, when He comes to ‘fetch’ a bride (the church) for Jesus Christ.
End of ‘sermonette’ :) Pass this on to your Sunday School teachers...and maybe to your pastors!
The term “pulp fiction” is applied to genre fiction of a low artistic worth. Bill’s sorta non-fiction should be called pulp writing too.
All I could think was "You release a Jesus movie on Easter week and you target non christians as your audience ? You all deserve to go broke."

c) O'Reilly is arrogant, won't let others complete their sentences for fear they may steal his limelight, and lastly he won't out Obama for what he really is for fear he'll not get another interview!
