She said she first used the WEN Cleansing Conditioner in October 2014, and said some of her hair still hasnt grown back.
I did lose about a third of my hair, which is dramatic, she explained. I still am a long way from where my hair should be. I dont know if its coming back.
Five other women are also part of Petersons lawsuit. Some of them claim bald spots appeared after using Deans Cleansing Conditioner.

we have state licensing for hair stylists, see how well that works?
Just dump the state licenses and let the customers and lawyers handle the bad ones when they pop up
Isn’t Wen that crap you put in your hair to clean it but it’s not a shampoo?
I use it and have no problems with it at all. Like it a lot better than shampoo.
How does it make your scalp feel?
I’ve heard about this. My friends use it and they have luxurious silky hair, but lots of people find their hair just falling out after using it. There are forums online where people are so upset. Clearly the same chemical that smooths and shines the hair almost unnaturally has some toxicity. If it makes your hair fsll out, it’s probably not very good for the rest of you either.
LMAO.
Initially a friend gave it to me as a gift. It’s very good for holding the color and I use about three pumps- never noticed any scalp issues- lots of different types of formulations for different issues. Spring Orange blossom is very nice.
This is funny, because just the last few days I’ve seen a lot of the “WEN” commercials.
What I noticed was the guy doing the commercial. He’s supposed to be selling a superior hair care product, but HIS HAIR LOOKED DIRTY; OILY; AND UNKEPT.
I remember saying to myself: They need a different spokesperson - somebody who looks like they wash their hair.
So, I would never buy that product. Glad I figured it out before I ended up losing my hair - ouch!
Ohh, that’s what’s doing it.
I have below-shoulder length hair, very thick and very curly. If I used shampoo every day I would be unfit to be seen in public, as curly hair is dry and shampoo strips the little oil it has.
Co-washing (washing with conditioner) was a thing long before Chaz Dean came along. Wen is extremely overpriced; you can use any conditioner that works for you. I’ve tried them all, and the absolute best for me is cheap Suave coconut conditioner; I mix a little coconut oil in with it.
I run it through my hair and scrub my scalp, rinse out, and then use more as a leave-in after toweling dry. My hair smells and feels great, scalp is clean and even squeaks. I use shampoo every fifth day, followed by the conditioner. My hair has never looked better.
I like Suave products. My hair is stick straight but I wonder if leaving a little in would help when the static electricity is so bad. Never thought of it. Thanks.
I first heard about cowash from you on a thread a while back.
Found Pantene cowash in Walmart and I love it.
If I’m not mistaken, it’s just conditioner with a tiny bit of shampoo in it and yeah, easy to make yourself.
My hair looks and feels just as clean as it does with regular shampoo but the color that I pay so much for is not stripped out as fast.
I wondered if no shampoo would result in an oily scalp but there is really no reason why it would. Thx.
That’s great! I’m glad you found something that works for you. Companies have started to actually market co-wash as a product now, on the drugstore level.
No clue what Cleansing Conditioner even means.
Donna, I would try a little and see. Not much since your hair is straight and you don’t have the moisture issues I do. I bet it would help.
Wow, that stuff is $60 a bottle. For that it should immediately give you long lush golden locks and drop 20 lbs off one’s backside.
