The cure for overfishing is to breed more fish. Typically, such fish are healthier, at least initially free of parasites, so when they cross breed with the wild fish, you get many more better quality wild fish.
Attrition rates are high at first, but this benefits the predator fish and other sea life in the area.
But the way leftists approach the problem is to put fishing off limits, using the bad logic that stressed species will recover if left alone. While eventually they *might* do this, it takes far too long, and their recovery is mediocre.
So breeding for release is definitely the way to go.
