National Geographic's adaptation of Bill O-Reilly book Killing Jesus recently debuted to record-breaking 3.7 million viewers. The telecast would be all-time highest rated telecast.

Killing Jesus was aired as a three-hour special which chronicled the events leading up to death of the Jesus Christ.

The book was released in September 2013 and till now it has sold more than 6.8 million copies.

The Guardian's Selina O'Grady called Killing Jesus "a breathy retelling of the gospel stories by two conservative Catholics, one of whom, O'Reilly, believes that he was inspired to write the book by the Holy Ghost."

The telecast will re-air on Good Friday ( April 3) and again on Easter Sunday (April 5).

The book has been written by Fox News Channel star O'Reilly with Martin Dugard. The earlier two books, Killing Kennedy and Killing Lincoln were also adapted by NatGeo which remain one of the most watched programs in network's history.

Cast of Killing Jesus included Kelsey Grammer as King Herod the Great; Stephen Moyer as Pontius Pilate; Haaz Sleiman in the title role as Jesus; Rufus Sewell as Caiaphas; Emmanuelle Chriqui as Herodia; Eoin Macken as Antipas; and John Rhys Davies as Annas.

If you believe in the truth of scripture, don’t bother watching this. It is almost entirely a work of fiction.

Modern day progressives would like to see traditional Christianity destroyed, and will use sophisticated mass media methods to do so.

“chronicled the events leading up to death of the Jesus Christ.”

rewrote the events leading up to death of the Jesus Christ. (and with very bad beards!)

There, now I fixed it.

Reminds me of the declaration of Diocletian, that all Christians are dead on December 25th. Only he got proven wrong shortly thereafter.

MSNBC isn’t intended to be a commercial success.
It’s owned by the stunningly profitable regime affiliate Comcast.
It exists to provide talking points to the faithful.

And a muslim Jesus.

It was OK to watch as entertainment but not what I would turn to for answers.

I watched it last night, since I had nothing much better to do sitting in my motel room with a cold. It was a decent presentation of the life and death of Jesus. Yes there was fictionalized language and events, but there is that even in “The Greatest Story Ever Told” movie. For a ‘secular/historical’ account, it is worth watching more than the anti=Christian specials on CNN.

However I’m not going to read O’R’s book.

Did Cruz make his ad buy on the Nat’l Geo? Didn’t this also run on Fox?

Anyone know?

Watched it, was not impressed at all. It could not hold a candle to the Passion.

Looks as if he followed “John” for the book and never even considered the rest.

>>retelling of the gospel stories by two conservative Catholics, one of whom, O’Reilly, believes that he was inspired to write the book by the Holy Ghost.

What did the Holy Spirit tell him? “Bill, I need you to retell the gospel and leave me out of it. Its OK if you rearrange things and add stuff and leave out important things. Just make sure that it fits with the Koran version, mm’kay?”

I think the Cruz ad buy is for “AD” which premieres tomorrow night.

Yup.

“Jesus Chirst Superstar” is truer to scripture — than “Killing Jesus”

Consider the source for that quote ... the Guardian, basically a commie rag.
