Enlisted in 69 at 5-7 140 lbs when I got out of Jump School I was 160 lbs. When I was discharged in 72 I was back down to around 140-145. FSB Bastogne and the A Shau Valley was not noted for it’s culinary expertise.

I have always wondered what secret method was used to remove Manning’s Y chromosomes...

I gained weight as well, in Navy boot camp. But I came in a skinny, 5’6” 109 lbs. Hardest part of boot camp to me was carrying that full seabag from the receiving barracks to the regular barracks. Damn, that thing was heavy.

Just more proof that those who are “conflicted about their sexuality” are bad security risks and do not belong in positions of national security/trust.

Met a couple of those in my career. But to be honest, most of the young officers I dealt with were pretty good, albeit inexperienced. And one or two went on to be outstanding officers.

The only thing I still want to know about Manning is why he was reclaimed from the discharge unit during basic training (I think that is what it is called), and why previous infractions werent enough to get him out of a sensitive posting. This guy was bad news from day one. The same reason that Nadil Hasan was permitted to remain on base.
The same lousy fifth columnist subversion that HCUAA was investigating in the 30s-60s is still in place today.

I used to almost feel sorry for 2nd Lts.
Saw a Major talk to one in VN after a very bad
screw-up he made.Don`t think he ever recovered.
Weird woman that guy is.

I would have very much enjoyed a SMSgt saying that to me or about me when I was a 2nd Lt. Would not have gone well for him or her. But then again I’m not dickless

Chelsea Manning breaks silence from behind bars Some things weren't meant to be broken.

I dont know how [this struggle] shaped my life and who I am, but its absolutely a factor in the decisions that I made before and including when I enlisted in the Army, she explained.
Homos were once considered mentally ill and a security risk in law enforcement and the military. Wonder why?
