Police: Remains Identified as Missing Virginia Teen Anjelica 'AJ' Hadsell Apr 10, 2015 By EMILY SHAPIRO
[Pic in URL] Remains recovered by police in Virginia have been positively identified as missing college student Anjelica "AJ" Hadsell, Norfolk Police said today, as the investigation into her death continues.
The remains were found in Southampton County, Virginia, on Thursday, police said, and were sent to the Chief Medical Examiner's Office to be identified and to determine the cause of death.
Police said they have not made any arrests and the cause of death has not been determined.
Norfolk police told ABC News in a statement today: "Chief of Police Michael Goldsmith and the dedicated members of the Norfolk Police Department express their deepest sympathies to the Hadsell family and thank the many federal, state, and local agencies that have assisted throughout the course of this investigation. The department’s efforts are now focused on bringing closure to the Hadsell family, as the investigation into A.J.’s death continues."

I look at her young face and immediately I consider how many years have passed since my friends and I looked like that in photographs, and I am stunned at what was stolen from her. RIP.

Looking at her face I also had a reaction. I thought what I would have done if this had happened to my Daughter.

That was my first thought, what I was just told was that the step-dad broke into the boyfriend’s house looking for evidence that she had been there and found her jacket.
I’m sorry to bring this to your attention but I read at a news site that the stepfather has a lengthy jail record...he also was arrested for rape, and kidnapping but those charges were dropped when his then wife went “missing”.....never to be seen again....

My fiancee is related through her dad not stepdad. But any missing person story always makes me look at mom’s boyfriend.
So sorry for your fiancé - and you. I read once that every murder immediately impacts something like 36 lives around it, and actually destroys or totally changes about 12.
A murder branches out to affect over 100 people. The poet John Donne was right - no man is an island; ask not for whom the bell tolls, it tolls for thee. This should be taken into consideration in sentencing.
This is so heartbreaking for her family. I pray for comfort for all of them.
