Worked law enforcement for almost 30 years and would not dream of shooting a guy as this situation describes. I may have been ready to shot, but would have needed to see the threat. I am getting old thought, perhaps I don't understand anymore.
“unarmed father”
my father was always unarmed and he never led the cops on high speed chases.
p.s. because he was busy working two jobs
because he was a dumbass. and no I do not lick cop boots.
The Daily Mail is gonna have a tough time whipping public opinion into a frenzy with this one.
same thing happened in my city a few years ago but the people shot were white. No protests.
armed with what ever he was driving
Watched the video. I’m confident the man was being ordered to get his hands up, or get on the ground, etc. He didn’t comply and instead reached inside the car when cops were holding guns on him.
So, the cops are supposed to wait to see what the guy comes up with out of the back seat in that situation? Might be a little late at that point, don’t you think? Bystanders and/or cops could have been killed. Glad it was the idiot instead.
Looks like suicide by cop to me. Knowing that the police are all to willing to help a black man into the next world. More like a Martyr.
He purposefully kept his hands out of view.
That’s my opinion from the information available at this time.
About 15 years ago, the police were chasing a guy who took off after he was pulled over.
Guy tried to ram his way through a red light at high speed, rear-ended another guy who was just sitting at the light.
Guy sitting at the light was deceased at the scene. Never knew what hit him. Could’ve been me, I stop at that intersection all the time. I constantly check my rear-view mirror now, though.
Why was he shot?
2 pedestrians died in the past week during police chases here in the bay area. if ya have a license plate or good id,, why continue pursuit?
unless you have reason to believe a major crime has been committed.. how many will die? needlessly.
Chances are he was wanted for a crime of some kind. My father told me when I was about 10 or 12 to never run from a policeman and to always be respectful if a policeman stopped me.
I am a 75 year old woman and I have never committed a crime worse than speeding or getting a parking ticket so it never became an issue.
Unarmed? WTH does that have to do with anything?
The idiot ran. Plenty of unarmed thugs have been rightly killed over the years.
Sorry no sympathy for him—I side with the bootlickers this time.
Suicide by cop.
First, do not go on a high speed chase.
Second, but if you do..when you are pulled over do not make any sudden moves or reach for something without announcing it.
Finally, do not run.

Link above says he had a warrant but doesn’t say for what. Not paying child support would be my first guess.
This guy was jumping all over the place. I’m not surprised he got shot, gun or no gun. It looks like he drops something when the shot him ...not sure though...
I saw the video. The guy flees from police and then plows into a few cars and when finally cornered he doesn’t give up. Bad mistake on his part. Police only had seconds to react and chose to take him down. I think I am with the police on this one.
Unarmed except that ton of metal he was driving. I’m sure the driver of the car he hit though he used it as a weapon.
every one of these damn stories starts off with “fleeing” or “resisting arrest”.. Take that out of the equation and most of these perps would be living.
