My hip is killing me and I need Freeper diagnosis

Okay Freepers. Time to play Freeper MD.

For three weeks my hip has been killing me. left side.

Doesn't hurt when I jabbed with my thumb.

Has been hurting when I lay on it.

The last three days, it has been hurting when I sit.

My vainglorius head is getting bigger but, I discern no deformation or growth in the area of pain.

As I sit here typing this out, it is throbbing.

Get to guessing.

Bursitis? Just the fun of being a bit over 50? Hypochondriac? I'm no longer hip?

My guess it bursitis. I am pretty flexible. Can still nearly do the splits, though not as well I did when worked out all the time and I put my palms on the floor and go further just to show off.

Male 51 Dashing looks Vain

Get on with it...

Just curious if y'all have any experience and it turned out to be something a cortisone shot took care of.

Your symptoms sound similar to ankylosing spondylitis (AS). Check it out on internet. There is a blood test that will show if you have a marker that indicates this hereditary disease. No cure but lots of treatment possibilities, although the possible side effects of newer drugs are frightening.

Try to stretch the ligament that goes over that corner. It helped me.

I had aching hips most noticeably when I got out of bed in the morning. Also had aching wrists. Wife put me on glucosamine chondroitin. Took about two weeks for it to kick in. Aches went away. Been on it for about ten years now. Aches come back when I’m out of it for 4 to 5 days. She says name brand is important. Will have to check the brand.

Don’t know. It can be difficult to get even small amounts of even mediocre quality MMJ.

try anti-inflammatories...

try sleeping on your side with a pillow between your knees...

believe it or not, most of these aches and pains do moderate over a few weeks...

arthritis is part of life...it worsens and it moderates...

I disagree in running to get surgery...you're pretty young to have a hip that needs surgery....

My wife has had two knee replacements. They weren’t an “E” Ticket Rides to have done, but they’ve made her like a new person. Get a good Orthopedic Surgeon and he will probably have you have an MRI or a CT Scan. These diagnostic tools are excellent and their resolution will give the doctor an absolute picture of the joint. BTW, I am told that hips are much easier than knees if that’s any consolation. The hip is a much less complex joint. But don’t wait, none of it gets easier with time.

Dr Killmore has more time and less patients!

Or Dr Carver. What a cut up!

At the prices that stuff commands you would have to spend $4-$5 thousand dollars to make a poultice or a gal. of tea. Not necessary either. For external use the leaves, not flowers, of plain ole ditchweed is what is commonly used.

Should be plenty in the mid-west ... two months from now.

I walk everywhere and love it.

How much mileage you got on those shoes?

Maybe you just need new shoes.

A soft bed could very well contribute to your problem.

I’m very sorry to learn of your struggles. Blowing out my patellar tendon was a learning experience regarding my physical therapy. It’s not fun but, you’ve gotta do it.
