In Texas you get a “Vetran” identifier on your license by providing your DD214 when you apply. Lowe’s accepts this for their 10% discount.

LOWES will not accept a copy of your DD214. It must be a VA card.
And they stopped recognizing the old VA card last year. I know because I dropped $1000+ on a washer/dryer and they refused me (quite apolgetically).
Meanwhile, the VA announced late last summer they were replacing the old cards with news ones - and here I am still waiting.
