Hes baaaaaaaaaack. At least, for some offseason workouts, and who knows? possibly much more.
Tim Tebow, the decorated Florida quarterback whose first stint in the NFL was as brief as it was closely scrutinized, has reached an agreement to join the Eagles, according to ESPNs Adam Schefter. Philadelphia Coach Chip Kelly has spoken highly of Tebow in the past, and apparently he saw enough of the quarterback during a March workout to add him to a depth chart that currently includes Sam Bradford, Mark Sanchez, Matt Barkley and G.J. Kinne.
The Eagles had reportedly been trying to trade Barkley before signing the 27-year-old Tebow, but they couldnt find takers and wanted the former Gator on the team for as many offseason training sessions as possible. Tebow reunites with Sanchez, as both were on the Jets during the formers last NFL season, in 2012.
Tebow won two national titles and a Heisman Trophy while at Florida, then was drafted 25th overall by the Broncos in 2010. He was in Denver for just two seasons before moving on to the Jets for one, and he accumulated career totals of 2,422 yards, 17 touchdowns and nine interceptions on 47.9 percent passing, plus 989 yards rushing for 12 touchdowns.
In two 2011 playoff games, Tebow completed 19 of 47 passes for 450 yards, two touchdowns and zero interceptions, plus 63 yards rushing for one touchdown. One of those touchdown passes was an 80-yard completion to Demaryius Thomas that gave the Broncos a memorable overtime win over the Steelers.

Im glad for him, even though theyre in my teams division. But Im not sure the Eagles know the grief theyve let themselves in for from The Party of Tolerance.
Didn’t Tim with Florida Kick Chip Kelly’s ass when he was coaching Oregon?
A friend is just about beside himself over this move by “his” Iggles. Piling this on top of Duke winning the NCAA basketball championship is adding insult to injury for him.
Could there actually be something that would lead me back to an NFL game?
I’m buying a block of tix to the first Eagles preseason game tomorrow - can’t wait !
Thanks for reminding me why I stopped following the NFL. I now have a team to get behind, especially with the positive comments of Chip Kelly.
You won’t find many positive comments on the left leaning Philly.com/sports site. They don’t even try to hide their contempt for Tebow. Any move that explodes heads in the liberal media is OK with me.
If they carry three quarterbacks, he might be third on the depth chart. If they dress only two, he’ll probably end up on the practice squad. They appear to have placed their bets on Bradford after trading Folz (although I think they got the worse of that deal) and that would make Sanchez their second.
Tebow has been treated worse than Sam.
