Feral Pit Bulls are very, very common in the slums. Shoot on sight is the best policy.

I think there’s probably some steroid abuse going on within the LEO community. A lot of this over the top aggressive behavior looks a lot like Roid Rage. It’s just a theory mind you.

We’ll never see the days of polite cops again unfortunately.

The evil that this society has become permeates every facet of life almost. Having seen the scum they deal with daily, I can hardly blame them.

The problem is, it’s getting harder and harder for them to tell the good guys from the bad. Is it their fault? Perhaps... Shooting dogs and no-knock warrants to the wrong address doesn’t help either. But you have to remember we live in a no-respect society now thanks to neo-liberalism and the godless souls that make up this society.

And I’m no boot-licker either

The younger ones all seem to think they’ve been appointed to be judge, jury and executioner. There’s a world of difference between a fifty year old cop and one in his thirties.

You are lucky in North GA. if they shoot your dog. Here they like to blow up small children with flash bangs. Keep those dangerous rug rats on a short leash.

"It was only much later that I learned that cops carry some kind of gadget on their utility belts that emits a high-pitched sound that hurts dog's ears and really p*sses them off. Especially big dogs. Has anybody out there ever faced this kind of situation? "

No one has responded to the final ?? this poster asked,be the scenario a story or fact and yes a bit drawn out before making the final ??.I am curious to know if its radios, beepers or some other electronics he is asking about.

My sis raises Border Collies, has 40 something sheep and 3 Great Pyrenees guard dogs, carries an i phone and a Motorola radio to the fields when training the dogs and into the barns and none of her animals appear go crazy.Chickens either.

Maybe dogs are not big on anyone pounding on and knocking down doors? As a kid ours used to go nuts when the mail man put mail in the box attached to the front of the house and couldn't even see the box or mail man.We have all seen those videos of dogs going crazy when mail is put in the mail slot.

I don't think cops equip emit any annoying frequencies,I think dogs don't like all the crap hanging off of them. When I was a telephone installer way back when, dogs did not like my tools or body belt when approaching yards.

No, they just turned the doorknob. Unlocked door, because people had been in and out all day. And this really did happen. The creep they were after was hiding in one of our neighbor’s tool shed. Ironically, it was a K-9 cop who caught him. For all I know, the two cops involved could be reading this right now.

I have a BIG DOG which I believe is part Rottweller and lab. Friendly as can be but when joggers walk by OK but when they run, WOW! LOOKOUT!
The local cops came to my house, TWO CARS! and told me to pen them up as it was against county ordinance to allow RURAL AREA dogs free. First I’d ever heard of it, and had never had a problem till the county paved the road and joggers started using it.

The got out of their cars, and came to the door. Right beside them was my dogs, wanting loving and petting from the cops.
Well, I locked them in a new made dog pen, but the cops never made a move to shoot the dogs, but they DID keep an eye on them.

Funny, the same cops never seemed to getting around to busting my trashy neighbor for making meth. It took outside-the-area cops to do it, their house was so contaminated, the government even scraped the ground to remove all chemical tainted dirt, but the partially destroyed house sat for two years to air it out before the rest could be removed.

I guess you missed this.

“Some loser a mile away shot and carjacked a tourist, led the cops on a high-speed chase, and then fled. He was on the run, armed and dangerous. There were police helicopters searching for him, and squad cars everywhere. And I had no idea.”

It was right before he talked about the dog going nuts.

Agree.

And when he writes; “. . .I learned that cops carry some kind of gadget on their utility belts that emits a high-pitched sound that hurts dog's ears and really p*sses them off”. . .that is downright wacko-weird nut-bag weirdo stuff. This guy has to be a delusional drug-addled rat troll.

My thoughts too and I’ve seen a couple of them lately or the ones who have been here for years and now have started posting after a couple of years break.

Went through the past comments and there is a lot of discrepancy .

“We’ll never see the days of polite cops again unfortunately.”

Perhaps. But we can't over-look the fact that We’ll never see the days of polite teens/young adults. . .I teach at a community college and the disrespect and rude behavior towards each other and instructors is astounding.

Peet:

There is an ultrasonic device one can buy that is supposed to repel dogs. One of my brothers who cannot *stand* other peoples’ dogs jumping on him tried one and it worked — the dog *really* wanted to jump up on him but stood off for once.

Perhaps that is what jespasinthru was thinking of? I’d imagine it would kind of p*ss off the doggie in question.

I know exactly what you mean, where the dog is concerned. When me and my husband finally got our new house, we took Wolfie Dog with us. Fortunately we live in a quasi-rural area outside the city limits. But Wolfie Dog is still considered a felon by the local sheriff’s department. I don’t care. He’s update on his shots, is micro-chipped, and the redneck dog breeder who lives down the road allows us to let him breed with the breeder’s female dogs. And since we’re paying mortgage and homeowner’s insurance now, we don’t have to worry about “insurance issues”.

I’d rather be the next Harlan Ellison. I recently came across a very old book of his written way back in the 1960’s, when he was still a struggling young writer who had not yet discovered the magic of Science Fiction. It was a collection of short stories called “Gentleman Junkie”. All about messed-up people doing messed-up things in what was apparently a very messed-up era in American history. Some of the stories were brutally funny, short masterpieces of gallows humor.
Harlan Ellison didn’t have to be taught to be a literary genius. He was born that way. And that is REAL talent on loan from God.
